Best Succulents Based on Your Zodiac Sign

Looking for a new addition to your home garden? Why not look to the stars for inspiration! Check out our recommendations for which succulents will fit best with your zodiac sign:

Aries (March 21st - April 19th)

As a fire sign, people born under Aries are passionate and competitive. Just like the ram that represents them, you’ll find that an Aries is direct and to-the-point: they hate unnecessary details and just want to get things done! This stubborn yet optimistic attitude is undoubtedly alluring and quite fun to be around.

Aries, we recommend succulents that don’t need much in terms of specific care needs: something simple yet beautiful is just for you! Consider looking for succulents that are unique, edgy, and stunning, like the Rainbow Hedgehog CactusAeonium Mardi Gras, or Echeveria agavoides. These succulents are hardy and simple, but they can blossom into many vibrant colors when given the right care.

Taurus (April 20th - May 20th)

Taurus is the first of the Earth signs and the one who most enjoys the finest of earthly pleasures. Luxurious but not overbearing, a Taurus may find themselves more into relaxing on the beach or in a garden with some soothing tea over dancing the night away in a Paris nightclub.

We recommend the String of Hearts, or Desert Rose for those Tauruses who need the finer things in life but still want to take it easy. Luxurious and rare, these succulents require a bit more attention than most, making them ideal for anyone who loves to garden. These succulents are also excellent plants for pruning and controlling their growth– the elephant bush makes for an especially fun addition to any bonsai garden.

Gemini (May 21st - June 20th)

To the average Gemini, there are just too many things to do in life! Spontaneous and erratic, Geminis thrive in the moment, at any moment. You’ll find Geminis constantly juggling a variety of interests and hobbies, enjoying as much out of each as they can. Their biggest downfall is their indecisiveness– there are just too many wonderful things to experience!

So Geminis, you’ll need succulents that are just like you: energetic, fun, and the center of every conversation. We recommend the weirder varieties, like Cobweb Hens-and-Chicks or Haworthia Zebra, both of which are easy to take care of for those on the go but still a fantastic centerpiece for hanging with friends. Crested succulents may also be an excellent fit for your adaptable nature, as they just keep on growing!

Cancer (June 21st - July 22)

As a water sign, Cancers are in tune with their emotions but still perfectly capable of staying present with their physical needs as well. Resilient and reserved, you’ll find a Cancer working on their personal sanctuary whenever they have time. Although they may seem difficult to relate to at first, catching the affections of a Cancer is something truly special.

Cacti are the perfect succulent for those born under the Cancer sign: with a sharp exterior but capable of thriving in any situation, these spiky friends make for the perfect houseplant. For beginners, we recommend cacti like the Christmas Cactus or Prickly Pear.

Leo (July 23rd - August 22nd)

Natural-born leaders and dramatic ones at that, Leos take center stage whenever they’re in a room. Fiercely loyal and passionate, Leos make for excellent confidants and partners. Prideful like the lions that represent them, a Leo is just as dramatic yet loyal as the cats they are.

For Leos, we recommend succulents that’ll catch your eye but not go dying on you: the Crassula Calico Kitten and Crassula Red Pagoda are the perfect showstoppers that can live through the roughest of days.

Virgo (August 23rd - September 22nd)

Logical, practical, and often the perfectionist, Virgos live their lives as emotionally efficient as possible. Their diligent, hardworking personality varies quite a bit from the flighty Gemini, even though they share the planet of communication, Mercury. If Geminis are out in public communicating, Virgos are on the other side of the screen, making sure everything goes smoothly.

Virgo

The biggest problem a Virgo faces is stress! Fortunately, most succulents are pretty easy on the eyes, the wallet, and in terms of care needs. For the Virgo looking to have a good time with a good succulent, we recommend the simple things: Echeverias of all kinds are perfect for you!

Libra (September 23rd - October 22nd)

For a Libra, life is about balance. Whether it’s work and play, sweet and savory, or the company they choose to keep, a Libra will always look for harmony between things. This focus on equilibrium makes Libras great mediators and listeners, but it may leave them high and dry when it comes to their own emotional balance.

Libras, we recommend air plants. Although they aren’t technically succulents, air plants are an excellent choice for the discerning individual searching for a unique balance between the natural and mystical. Plus, you won’t have to worry about dirt!

Scorpio (October 23rd - November 21st)

Scorpios receive too much hate. Running on emotional energy, a Scorpio may seem highly volatile and emotionally minded while also calculating when it comes to matters of importance. Steadfast in their emotional needs, a Scorpio knows what they want, when they want it, and how they’ll reach their goals.

Scorpios, we recommend the misunderstood: cacti are great and all, but there are tons of succulents out there that are just as beautiful and unique as you are! Succulents without any greens, like the Echeveria Black Knight or the Lithops Living Stones will undoubtedly fit your unique aesthetic.

Sagittarius (November 22nd - December 21st)

A Sagittarius is its own unique and dynamic blend of curiosities, passions, and adaptability in search of knowledge. Steadfast but incredibly flexible, the Saggitarius is full of contradictions. Brave yet cautious, intense but laid back, a Sagittarius’ personality really depends on what they’re passionate about.

For the Sagittarius passionate about plants, we recommend nearly anything and everything! However, we can’t just link every plant we’ve got in stock right here, so let’s just go with some great starters: String of TurtlesKalanchoe Panamensis, and Coral Aloe Vera.

Capricorn (December 22nd - January 19th)

Capricorns are patient, caring, and hopelessly stubborn. They can and will wait as long as it takes to reach their goals and smile while doing so. Sometimes, this stubbornness comes in the form of resistance to authority, social norms, or even their own emotions. Perhaps it’s their ability to keep moving forward despite the odds that fuels this resistance and makes it truly special.

Capricorns, we recommend something as stubborn as you are. Echeverias are hardy houseplants, and the Echeveria Raindrops are the hardiest of the bunch. Dragon’s Blood Sedum is another excellent choice for the discerning Capricorn, as long as you can keep up with its massive spread!

Aquarius (January 20th - February 18th)

Aquarius is an air sign despite their name, and you can certainly tell based on their creative minds. An Aquarius is always at the forefront of innovative thinking and isn’t afraid to speak their mind regarding matters they deem socially important. Always looking to stand up for what’s right, it’s always best to have an Aquarius on your side.

For the water-bearer, what better than water-bearing plants? Succulents that look like little bubbles like the Haworthia Cooperi make for great plant companions, as do the String of Dolphins. To satisfy your creative side, unique succulents like the Split Rock or Living Stones are excellent choices as well!

Pisces (February 19th - March 20th)

One of the more emotionally-sensitive signs in the zodiac, Pisces, is prone to feeling everything, sometimes all at once. For a Pisces, staying grounded and in tune with the ocean of emotions within is vital. Fiercely compassionate, a Pisces makes for an excellent confidant, as long as you’re willing to put in just as much work as they are.

Pisces, you deserve something lovely. Succulents like the Moonstones Pachyphytum and Graptoveria Debbie make for excellent choices: dreamy and beautiful, just like you!

If any of these beautiful succulents catch your eye, feel free to check them out, and happy gardening!
