Our August box featuring Green Jelly Bean Sedum, Echeveria Perle Von Nurnberg, Graptoveria ‘Debbie’, and Haworthia Retusa.

1. Green Jelly Bean Sedum


Sedum Pachyphyllum, also known as Green Jelly Bean Sedum, is a cute succulent with short chubby silvery green leaves that have red tips when grown in full sun.

It has a shrubbing habit and can grow bushes up to 1 foot tall. It may become leggy with age. The leaves and stems can be easily propagated.

In summer, it produces clusters of bright yellow flowers.

Full Sun.

Water deeply when soil is dry to the touch, then let drain completely.

Soil that is well aerated is best suited.

2. Echeveria Perle Von Nurnberg


This succulent is a beautifully colored Echeveria Perle Von Nurnberg. The plant is a hybrid of E. Gibbiflora v. Metallica and E. Potosina.

These plants are excellent for windowsill culture or as color accents in rock gardens or dish gardens. These make super colorful favors. Create your own container garden or centerpiece using the very popular succulents or buy in bulk to use these as wedding or party favors.

 Full Sun, Partial Sun, bright light with ample airflow.

 Porous soil with adequate drainage.

 Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Avoid letting water sit for too long in the rosette to prevent rot and fungal diseases.

 Protect from frost.

 Generally non-toxic to humans and animals

3. Graptoveria ‘Debbie’


Graptoveria ‘Debbie’ is an Echeveria hybrid with beautiful rosettes of fleshy gray-purple leaves. The tips of these leaves can turn into a vibrant pink color when stressed. Graptoveria ‘Debbie’ offsets readily to for a dense clump.

It produces tiny orange flowers in the spring.

This plant is perfect to grow in planters outdoors in frost-free areas. it is a tender soft succulent and needs to be protected from frost during the coldest months of winter.

Full sun.

Gritty, Porous and Well-Drained.

Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch, then let drain completely. Avoid letting water sit for too long in the soil to prevent rot and fungal diseases. Reduce watering to a minimum in the winter.

Feed once with a weak fertilizer at the beginning of the growing season (Spring or Summer).

You can propagate Graptoveria ‘Debbie' by seeds, leaf cuttings or offsets.

4. Haworthia Retusa


Haworthia Retusa (Star Cactus) is a succulent plant that forms star-shaped rosettes with its fleshy leaves, hence the common name. It is native to South Africa.

The plants main feature are the fleshy green to dark green leaves. When it finally flowers expect it to happen from summer.

 Full to partial sun is the best for its growth. It can also grow indoors.

 It has typical watering needs for a succulent. It's best to use the “soak and dry” method, and allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings.
