  •   The white poinsettia, with its pristine white bracts and vibrant green foliage, is a captivating Christmas plant that brings a touch of elegance and sophistication to any holiday decor. Unlike its traditional red counterpart, the white poinsettia offers a more subtle and peaceful beauty, symbolizing purity, innocence, and new beginnings.

The white bracts, which are often mistaken for petals, are not actually flowers. They are modified leaves called cyathia, which surround the small, yellow true flowers nestled in the center. These bracts are large and showy, ranging in size from 2 to 6 inches, and can be shaped like stars, ovals, or even points. The vibrant green foliage provides a contrasting backdrop for the white bracts, creating a stunning visual display.

Originating from Mexico, Poinsettias have transcended cultural boundaries to become a cherished emblem of Christmas worldwide.

White poinsettias can be easily incorporated into various holiday decorations, from traditional Christmas themes to more modern and minimalist styles. With proper care, white poinsettias can bloom for several weeks, adding festive cheer to your home throughout the holiday season.

  • Poinsettias thrive in bright, indirect sunlight. Placing them near a sunny window where they can receive sufficient light is ideal. However, it's essential to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

Maintain a moderate temperature range between 65-75°F. Poinsettias are sensitive to drafts, so avoid placing them near doors or windows with cold drafts.

Keep the soil consistently moist, allowing the top inch to dry out between waterings. Overwatering should be avoided, as Poinsettias are susceptible to root rot.

Utilize a well-draining potting mix to ensure adequate aeration for the plant's roots.

While not strictly necessary, pinching back Poinsettias in late spring can encourage a fuller and bushier growth habit.

This plant is mildly toxic. The milky white sap of the plant may cause mild irritation to the skin or stomach upset if ingested. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.

  • Provide porous soil with adequate drainage, pots with drainage hole are recommended. Bright, filtered light and ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Never let your succulents sit in water. Do NOT water on the leaves. If you water from beneath by letting the plant sit in a saucer of water, make sure to pour off any excess water after a few minutes. The hotter it is outside, the faster your soil will dry out, so you’ll need to water more often if you live in a hot area. Water with caution in winter, as the plant can lose its roots if the soil stays cold and wet for extended periods; protect from frost to prevent scarring.
