  • Rhoeo Tricolor 'Moses In The Cradle,' also known as the Oyster Plant (Tradescantia Spathacea) has its roots in tropical regions, hailing from Central America and the Caribbean. This striking beauty is among one of the most vivid, colorful foliage houseplants, appreciated for its cream, green, and pink variegated leaves.

What sets Rhoeo Tricolor apart from other houseplants is its breathtaking foliage. The leaves form a colorful tapestry, displaying a captivating mix of tricolor (green, pink, and cream) shades. On the reverse side of the leaves, a rich purple hue adds depth and contrast. This harmonious blend of vivid colors creates a visual masterpiece that will breathe life into your indoor garden.

When provided with ample light, this plant produces small white flowers that appear within its gracefully folded leaves. While typically grown indoors, Rhoeo Tricolor can also thrive in outdoor gardens if you reside in suitable growing zones during the warmer months.

Tradescantia spathacea is a versatile houseplant and can tolerate various conditions. Rhoeo Tricolor 'Moses In The Cradle' usually stays compact, reaching a height of up to 12 inches and spreading up to 24 inches wide, making it perfect for even small indoor spaces.

  • This plant can tolerate different lighting conditions, but it grows best with bright, indirect light. Prolonged periods in low light can make this plant lose its vibrant colors.

This plant's soil should be consistently moist but not waterlogged. Always assess the soil's dryness before watering.

This plant needs slightly moist, well-draining soil. Any type of high-quality houseplant soil would do.

Maintain indoor temperatures within the comfortable range of 65°F to 85°F for your Oyster Plant. Avoid extreme heat above this range and ensure it doesn't dip below 50°F. This plant prefers a warm and humid environment (around 50%), especially in the dry months. While it can tolerate lower humidity, consider misting its leaves or using a humidifier during the dry months.

Feed your Rhoeo Tricolor with a houseplant liquid fertilizer once or twice a month during the growing season in spring and summer. Do not overfertilize.

This plant is considered mildly toxic. Keep it out of reach of pets and children to prevent any accidental ingestion, which can lead to digestive discomfort.

    • One-time claim per order.

  • Provide porous soil with adequate drainage, pots with drainage hole are recommended. Bright, filtered light and ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Never let your succulents sit in water. Do NOT water on the leaves. If you water from beneath by letting the plant sit in a saucer of water, make sure to pour off any excess water after a few minutes. The hotter it is outside, the faster your soil will dry out, so you’ll need to water more often if you live in a hot area. Water with caution in winter, as the plant can lose its roots if the soil stays cold and wet for extended periods; protect from frost to prevent scarring.
