Calathea Ornata, or Pinstripe Prayer Plant, is a striking tropical plant. It has oval dark green leaves with gorgeous bright pink pinstripes. The underside of the leaves has a unique dark red-maroon color, making it one of the most colorful and beautiful members of the Calathea family.
As a prayer plant, Ornata belongs to the Marantaceae family. It folds its leaves up during the night, which resembles praying hands. This plant is also great at purifying the indoor air and removing air pollutants. Ornata is rarer than most Calathea varieties.
Calathea Ornata produces small orange flowers, packed around small inflorescence stems.
