  • Tradescantia Nanouk, also known as Fantasy Venice, is a special type of spiderwort plant. Unlike other Trandescantias, Nanouk is a patented plant, developed in the Netherlands in 2012. This plant is incredibly beautiful with lush pink-purple leaves and green stripe variegation. The underside of the leaves is pinkish purple and the stems are dark purple. The unique patterns of its foliage make Nanouk stand out from other houseplants.

Nanouk is a specific patented cultivar of Tradescantia albiflora, designed with the purpose to create a more vigorous, hardy, colorful Tradescantia cultivar. With its gorgeous foliage, Nanouk has become one of the most trendy, sought-after plants for houseplant lovers.

Tradescantia Nanouk usually grows up to a height and width of under 3.5 inches. Its compact size makes it a perfect tabletop plant for any home and office.

In spring and summer, Nanouk produces tiny pink buds and creamy white flowers.
  • Tradescantia Nanouk needs plenty of bright, indirect sunlight to maintain its variegation. Low light will make its color fade. However, it does not tolerate direct harsh sunlight, which would burn its leaves.

Tradescantia Nanouk needs watering about once a week or whenever the top 1" of the soil is dry. Drain well to avoid excess water retained in the soil.

Nanouk prefers well-drained porous potting soil. It is recommended that you mix some perlite with general houseplant soil to imrpove drainage.

Tradescantia Nanouk prefers daytime temperatures up to 75 °F , with night temperatures ideally in around 50°F-55°F. Nanouk likes humid environment, but its thick leaves help it to grows well in normal indoor humidity . Nanouk thrives in humidity levels ranging from 40% to 80%.

  • Provide porous soil with adequate drainage, pots with drainage hole are recommended. Bright, filtered light and ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Never let your succulents sit in water. Do NOT water on the leaves. If you water from beneath by letting the plant sit in a saucer of water, make sure to pour off any excess water after a few minutes. The hotter it is outside, the faster your soil will dry out, so you’ll need to water more often if you live in a hot area. Water with caution in winter, as the plant can lose its roots if the soil stays cold and wet for extended periods; protect from frost to prevent scarring.
