Our July box featuring Mini Rat's Tail Cactus, Graptopetalum Purple Delight, Echeveria Ciliata x Nodulosa, Haworthia Cooperi Var. Retusa and Seleriana.

1. Mini Rat's Tail Cactus

 Aporocactus Flagelliformis - Mini Rat's Tail Cactus, native to Mexico, is a unique succulent. It is distinctive for its long, trailing stems, fine spines that grow to 6 feet in length at maturity. The overall color of the plant is green when young but the stems age to almost beige color.

 Pink, crimson to red, abundant, fragrant, and attractive to hummingbirds and pollinators.

 All of the plants may be shipped bare root.

 Full sun to partial shade.

 Water generously during the active growth period and very sparingly during the rest period.

 Porous and well-drained cactus mix.

2. Graptopetalum Purple Delight

 Graptopetalum Purple Delight or Graptopetalum Snow White is a plant species of the Crassulaceae family. This succulent has perfect purple rosette shape. Its leaves can margin color from lavender-gray to frosy-white under stress.

 Graptopetalum Purple Delight is a slow-growing succulent species.

 Plants may be shipped bare-root with the No Pot option. Option with pots will be shipped with soil.

Graptopetalum Snow White thrives well under full sun, bright indoor light. However, avoid direct sunlight to prevent evaporation.

 Water deeply enough to allow water to flow down the drainage hole, then wait for the soil to dry completely before watering again.

 Well-draining Soil.

 This succulent thrives in temperatures of 65°F-75°F. It is vital to ensure the room temperature does not fall below 60°F.

 This plant should be fertilized once during the growing season (spring/summer) with diluted houseplant fertilizer.

3. Echeveria Ciliata x Nodulosa

 Echeveria Ciliata x Nodulosa is a gorgeous rosetted succulent. It has keeled green leaves, edged and backed with burgundy outlines. Each rosette is covered with a fine, velvety coating of cilia and can grow to about 4 inch wide. This hybrid has a branching habit and can grow sprawling stems, but can stay compact with regular pruning. Also known as "Mexican Hens & Chicks", Echeveria can produce new offsets or "chicks" around the base of the mother plant.

 All of the plants may be shipped bare root.

 Full sun or partial shade.

 Porous and well-drained succulent potting mix.

 Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch, then let drain completely. Avoid letting water sit for too long in the rosette to prevent rot and fungal diseases.

4. Haworthia Cooperi Var. Retusa

 

 Haworthia cooperi var. retusa is a type of translucent Haworthia. Its leaves blending to green near the heart of the rosette when grown in full sun. Leaves are thick and recurved with translucent "windows" on their tips. These leaf windows allow sunlight into the leaf interior and help the plant tolerate low light conditions.


 All of the plants may be shipped bare root.

 Bright, indirect light, partial shade.

 Porous, well-drained potting mix with sand, pumice or decomposed granite.

 Water only when soil is dry to the touch. Let drain completely after each watering.

 Offsets (New plants are freely produced basally between the leaves).

5. Seleriana

 Tillandsia Seleriana is a beautiful species of air plant with a bulbous base and a thick coating of rough white trichomes all over the plant. These trichomes creates a fuzzy velvety appearance while proctecting the plant from the sun and facilitating the moisture absorbing process.

 When Tillandsia Seleriana produces white flowers, its wavy leaves turn purple.

 All of the plants may be shipped bare root.

 Bright indirect sunlight.

 No soil is needed. Sand, sea glass, rocks, pebbles & bark chip can be used instead of soil.

 Frequent misting several times a week is necessary. Tillandsia Seleriana will also benefit from a soaking bath every week. Give it a little shake off afterwards to make sure water doesn't collect in the bottom leaves to prevent rot.
