The leaves are forest green with white edges and develop vivid pink or red tones when exposed to direct sun. It forms tight, symmetrical rosettes that stay compact and work equally well in a bohemian mixed planting or an architectural display. The foliage clusters densely, creating visual depth without sprawling or demanding much space.
'Rosa Madchen' produces small pink flowers in late spring or early summer, typically appearing after the rosette has matured for a season or two. Blooms emerge on tall stalks and last several weeks before fading. The plant can flower repeatedly over many years, though each individual rosette blooms only once before offsetting and continuing the colony.
It prefers temperatures between 50-75°F and tolerates dry heated air from furnaces and radiators without issue.
