  •   Sedum spectabile 'Rosenteller' is a hardy perennial stonecrop in the Crassulaceae family of succulents. It originates from the rocky mountainous regions of China and Korea, where it naturally grows in alpine settings. This cultivar stands out among stonecrops for its exceptional pink autumn blooms and robust tolerance of cold climates.

Thick, fleshy blue-green leaves grow in dense clusters along sturdy upright stems, creating substantial mounds that reach 18-24 inches tall and wide. The foliage has a smooth, waxy texture and forms a clumping habit. Each stem is topped by flat-topped flower clusters that rise above the mounded foliage.

It produces spectacular pink flower clusters in late summer through autumn, when most other perennials are fading. The dense, plate-like blooms attract butterflies and beneficial pollinators. It handles balcony wind and rain without damage.

Sedum 'Rosenteller' transitions easily between indoor and outdoor locations across seasons. It tolerates dry heated air and can remain outdoors well into fall, extending the garden's seasonal color. You can leave it up to ten days without water. The plant is safe around cats and dogs.

  •   Sedum spectabile 'Rosenteller' grows well in partial sun to full sun, though it needs rotating indoors for even growth.

Water it deeply once weekly during the growing season, then reduce to monthly watering in winter.

Sedum 'Rosenteller' does best in well-draining soil mixed with sand or perlite for optimal drainage.

It prefers temperatures between 20–85°F and handles frost exceptionally well.

Sedum 'Rosenteller' grows at a moderate pace and rarely needs fertilizer in average garden soil.

It is hardy in USDA zones 3–9, tolerating frost down to –40°F. It grows successfully across northern states including Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. It also performs well throughout Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, northern Georgia, northern Alabama, northern Arkansas, Oklahoma, northern Texas, northern New Mexico, northern Arizona, northern Nevada, and northern California.
  • Q: How often should I water Sedum spectabile 'Rosenteller'?
A: During active growth, water once weekly and allow the soil to dry between waterings. In winter dormancy, reduce watering to once monthly.

Q: Is it safe around pets?
A: Sedum spectabile 'Rosenteller' is non-toxic and safe for both cats and dogs.

Q: What light does Sedum 'Rosenteller' prefer indoors?
A: A bright window works best, though avoid harsh south-facing exposures that can scorch the leaves. Rotate the plant every few weeks for balanced, upright growth.

Q: How cold hardy is it?
A: Sedum 'Rosenteller' survives temperatures down to –40°F and can remain outdoors year-round in zones 3–9.

Q: How large does Sedum 'Rosenteller' grow?
A: It reaches 18–24 inches tall and wide at maturity, forming dense, upright clumps.

Q: Can it be grown indoors year-round?
A: Sedum 'Rosenteller' adapts well to indoor conditions and tolerates dry heated air. Moving it outside for summer encourages stronger flowering.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
