  •   Sedum nussbaumerianum 'Orange Delight' is a trailing succulent from the Crassulaceae family, native to Mexico where it evolved in rocky, sun-baked terrain. It adapts equally well to garden beds and indoor containers, growing well wherever drought tolerance is an asset.

The foliage forms tight, jewel-like rosettes of plump, pointed leaves with a smooth, slightly waxy texture that shifts from copper to amber to deep orange when exposed to abundant sunlight. Rosettes cluster freely over time, creating a cascading mound of trailing stems. In a hanging basket, the stems spill downward in a warm, fiery curtain of colorful foliage.

Small, white, star-shaped flowers appear in late winter to early spring, carrying a light, sweet fragrance. Cooler nighttime temperatures encourage blooming.

Sedum 'Orange Delight' is completely pet-safe around cats and dogs. Move it outside on a patio or balcony in summer, though it needs shelter from heavy rain to prevent waterlogged soil. Keep it away from direct airflow from heating or cooling vents. Rotate it every few weeks for even, symmetrical growth. You can leave it up to ten days without water.

  •   Sedum nussbaumerianum 'Orange Delight' grows well in bright indirect light, partial sun, or full sun, though intense south-facing windows may scorch the leaves.

Water it every 10 to 14 days in summer and cut back to once a month in winter, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings.

Sedum 'Orange Delight' does best in a fast-draining cactus and succulent mix blended with extra perlite for excellent drainage.

It prefers temperatures between 60 and 85°F and should be brought indoors before frost threatens.

Sedum 'Orange Delight' grows at a moderate pace and needs only a light, diluted succulent fertilizer once in spring and once in early summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 through 11, tolerating minimum temperatures down to around 25°F before frost damage occurs. It grows outdoors year-round across California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and coastal areas of Oregon and Washington. It grows well in Nevada's warmer southern valleys, parts of New Mexico, and the southern tips of Arkansas and Tennessee within protected garden spots in zone 9 microclimates.
  • Q: Is Sedum nussbaumerianum 'Orange Delight' safe for cats and dogs?
A: It is completely non-toxic and pet-friendly for both cats and dogs.

Q: Why might the leaves develop brown spots indoors?
A: Sedum nussbaumerianum 'Orange Delight' often develops brown spots from too much direct sun through a south-facing window, or from high humidity combined with overwatering.

Q: Does Sedum 'Orange Delight' work well in hanging baskets?
A: Its trailing stems and copper-orange rosettes make it a natural choice for hanging displays, provided the basket has drainage holes and receives plenty of bright light.

Q: How large does it grow over time?
A: Sedum 'Orange Delight' typically reaches 6 to 12 inches tall and spreads 12 to 24 inches wide as the rosettes cluster and trails lengthen.

Q: How do you propagate Sedum 'Orange Delight'?
A: Leaf or stem cuttings root easily when you let them callous for a day or two, then place them on well-draining succulent mix where new rosettes emerge within a few weeks.

Q: What window direction is best for indoor growth?
A: Sedum 'Orange Delight' thrives in east or west-facing windows, providing several hours of morning or afternoon sun without the intense heat that scorches foliage in south-facing spots.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
