  •   Pothos 'Albo Variegata' is a rare variegated cultivar of Epipremnum, a genus of vining tropical plants native to Southeast Asia and the Solomon Islands. In the wild, it climbs trees and scrambles across humid forest floors. It brings that same climbing energy indoors, with foliage that commands visual attention.

The leaves are glossy, heart-shaped to elongated, and splashed with creamy white and deep green in bold, irregular patterns. No two leaves are identical. It trails from a hanging hook or climbs a moss pole when given support, and the white variegation catches light. As a vining houseplant, it adapts to shelves, hanging baskets, or vertical displays.

Pothos 'Albo Variegata' is grown almost exclusively for its foliage rather than its rarely appearing indoor flowers. It actively filters formaldehyde and other airborne toxins, improving air quality in any room it occupies.

The sap can cause skin and paw irritation, so keep it on a high shelf well out of reach of pets and small children. It handles the gentle humidity near a kitchen sink and can spend summer outdoors in a sheltered, shaded spot. Cuttings with strong white patterning are especially sought after by collectors.

  •   Pothos 'Albo Variegata' grows well in medium to bright indirect light and tolerates low light, but scorches in direct south-facing windows.

Water it every 7–10 days, allowing the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings.

Pothos 'Albo Variegata' does best in a well-draining mix of potting soil, perlite, and a small amount of orchid bark for airflow.

It prefers temperatures between 65–85°F and should never be exposed to frost or cold drafts from AC and heating vents.

Pothos 'Albo Variegata' is a moderately fast vining grower; feed it with a balanced liquid fertilizer once a month during spring and summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 10–12, where temperatures stay above 35°F year-round. It grows outdoors year-round in Hawaii, southern Florida, and the southernmost tips of California and Texas. In Arizona, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Nevada, and along the Oregon and California coasts, move it outside for summer and bring it back indoors before autumn temperatures drop.
  • Q: How much light does Pothos 'Albo Variegata' need?
A: It grows well in medium to bright indirect light and even tolerates low light, including office LEDs. Avoid direct sun, which will scorch the white variegation in south-facing windows.

Q: Is this plant safe for pets?
A: No. Pothos 'Albo Variegata' sap can cause skin and paw irritation on contact, so keep it on a high shelf well out of reach of cats, dogs, and small children.

Q: How do I propagate Pothos 'Albo Variegata'?
A: It propagates easily from stem cuttings with at least one node, placed in water or moist sphagnum moss until roots develop. Cuttings with strong white patterning are especially sought after.

Q: How fast does the plant grow?
A: Pothos 'Albo Variegata' is a moderate to fast grower during warm months when given bright indirect light and regular feeding. Growth slows in winter, so ease off watering and fertilizing until spring.

Q: Can Pothos 'Albo Variegata' go outside in summer?
A: Yes. It loves a warm, sheltered outdoor spot in summer as long as it stays shaded from direct sun. Bring it back indoors before temperatures drop in autumn.

Q: Why are the leaves turning yellow?
A: Yellow leaves usually indicate overwatering, poor drainage, or exposure to cold air from AC or heating vents on Pothos 'Albo Variegata'. Let the soil dry out between waterings and move it away from any direct airflow.

    🌿 For Houseplants
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging as soon as possible and review the care instructions included with your order. Water based on your plant’s needs, making sure not to overwater.
Houseplants may need a short adjustment period after arrival. Give your plant time to acclimate to its new space before placing it with other plants. You can gently clean the leaves if needed, and wait to fertilize until it has settled in. Always check soil moisture instead of watering on a fixed schedule.
*** We pack carefully to protect each plant during transit, so larger orders may arrive in multiple packages.
