The Pink Ice Plant features triangular leaves with a frosted, silvery-blue hue that contrasts with its purple-pink stems. Its compact, shrublet form makes it an excellent choice for rock gardens, hanging containers, or as a ground cover.
In spring and summer, the Pink Ice Plant produces lilac-pink flowers that bloom in clusters. These blooms appear at the tips of the stems, adding a splash of color to its foliage. The plant requires cooler nighttime temperatures to encourage flowering.
Move it outside in summer for optimal growth, but ensure it’s sheltered from heavy rain. The Pink Ice Plant grows well in well-draining soil and can tolerate dry, heated air indoors. It’s beginner-friendly and shows wilting when thirsty, making care straightforward.
Pink Ice - Oscularia delcoides - Pink Vygie grows well in full sun to partial shade. Rotate it occasionally to ensure even growth and avoid scorching in intense light.
Water it thoroughly when the soil is dry, typically every 10-14 days. Reduce watering in winter to prevent root rot.
