  •   Peperomia 'Napoli Nights' - 4" Pot (Peperomia caperata) is a compact hybrid houseplant created by crossing Peperomia rosso and Peperomia peruviana. This peperomia originates from Central and South America and brings texture to any indoor space. The plant is pet friendly, making it a safe choice for homes with cats and dogs.

The foliage grows in dense, mounded rosettes that spread from the base, with deeply ridged leaves in forest green and grey tones. Each leaf is small and compacted, creating a textured, sculptural appearance. Growth stays compact and slow, rarely exceeding a few inches in height, perfect for desks, shelves, and tight corners.

'Napoli Nights' produces tiny white flower spikes above the foliage during the growing season, though the flowers are subtle. The leaves are deep green and grey with a matte finish. It works as a desk plant or terrarium specimen where its compact form can be fully appreciated.

Rotate it every few weeks for even, balanced growth on all sides. It grows well in a terrarium where moisture and humidity stay consistent, and it grows well near kitchen areas where ambient humidity from cooking naturally benefits the plant. You can leave it up to ten days without water. Keep it away from direct air from AC units or heaters, as it is sensitive to sudden temperature swings and dry air currents.

  •   Peperomia 'Napoli Nights' - 4" Pot grows well in bright indirect light and low to medium light, including under office LED bulbs; it scorches in direct south-facing windows.

Water it every 10-14 days during the growing season, letting the soil dry slightly between waterings; it wilts visibly when thirsty.

'Napoli Nights' does best in well-draining peperomia or African violet soil mixes with added perlite for air circulation.

It prefers temperatures between 60-75°F and handles brief drops to 50°F without damage; protect it from heating vents and AC drafts.

'Napoli Nights' is a slow grower that rarely needs pruning; fertilize every 4-6 weeks during spring and summer with half-strength liquid fertilizer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 11-12 and dies back in frost below 50°F; it grows outdoors year-round in southern Florida, Hawaii, and southern California.
  • Q: How often should I water Peperomia 'Napoli Nights' - 4" Pot?
A: Every 10-14 days during spring and summer. In winter, reduce watering to once every 3-4 weeks as growth slows and soil dries more slowly.

Q: Is this plant pet safe?
A: Peperomia 'Napoli Nights' - 4" Pot is completely non-toxic and safe for cats and dogs.

Q: Can 'Napoli Nights' tolerate low light?
A: It grows in low to medium light and grows under office LEDs, though growth stays slower than in bright indirect light. Avoid dark corners without any natural light.

Q: What causes the leaves to turn yellow?
A: Overwatering is the most common cause; let the soil dry out slightly between waterings and ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent root rot.

Q: How fast does 'Napoli Nights' grow?
A: Growth is slow, typically adding just a few inches per year, so it stays in proportion to a 4-inch pot for years.

Q: Can I propagate this plant?
A: 'Napoli Nights' propagates easily from leaf cuttings placed in moist soil; new plantlets emerge within 2-3 weeks under bright indirect light and consistent humidity.

  • Provide porous soil with adequate drainage, pots with drainage hole are recommended. Bright, filtered light and ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Never let your succulents sit in water. Do NOT water on the leaves. If you water from beneath by letting the plant sit in a saucer of water, make sure to pour off any excess water after a few minutes. The hotter it is outside, the faster your soil will dry out, so you’ll need to water more often if you live in a hot area. Water with caution in winter, as the plant can lose its roots if the soil stays cold and wet for extended periods; protect from frost to prevent scarring.
