  •   Pachyveria 'Jewel Tones' is a hybrid succulent from the Crassulaceae family, born from crossing Pachyphytum and Echeveria. It originates from the arid, rocky regions of Mexico, where drought tolerance and sun resilience are deeply rooted in its nature. This rare cultivar has earned serious attention from collectors for its exceptional color range and clustering growth habit.

'Jewel Tones' forms tight rosettes with plump, spoon-shaped leaves arranged in layers of dusty mint green, soft lavender, and blush tones that deepen under bright light. The leaves carry a powdery farina coating that gives the rosette an almost luminous, frosted appearance. Over time, it clusters and spreads into a multi-headed display that expands into a living gem collection rather than a single plant.

In spring or early summer, 'Jewel Tones' produces slender flower stalks topped with small coral-pink blooms. A slight drop in nighttime temperatures often encourages it to set buds and flower. The blooms complement the cool, frosty leaf tones and add a pop of color to the overall display. The leaves also shift into purples and pinks as light intensity increases, creating dynamic color variation throughout the year.

You can leave it up to ten days without water. Move it outdoors when temperatures warm up, though bring it under cover during rainy spells since the farina and roots prefer to stay dry. It is cat and dog friendly, making it a safe choice for homes with pets. A single rosette typically reaches 3 to 5 inches across, though clusters spread wider over time, staying compact and tidy for small pots, windowsills, and dish gardens. 'Jewel Tones' propagates well from offsets, which it produces naturally as it clusters over time.

  •   Pachyveria 'Jewel Tones' grows well in bright indirect light to full sun, ideally receiving 4 to 6 hours of direct morning sun daily.

Water it deeply every 10 to 14 days in summer and every 3 to 4 weeks in winter, allowing soil to dry completely between waterings.

'Jewel Tones' does best in a gritty, fast-draining succulent mix blended with 50 percent perlite or coarse sand.

It prefers temperatures between 60 and 80°F and should be protected from frost below 30°F.

'Jewel Tones' is a slow to moderate grower that benefits from a diluted balanced fertilizer once monthly during the active spring and summer season.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 to 11, tolerating brief dips to around 25 to 30°F but performing best where frosts are rare or absent. It grows outdoors year-round in sheltered spots throughout California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and Nevada. Coastal areas of Oregon, Washington, and the warmer pockets of New Mexico and Arkansas may also support it through mild winters, though container growing with seasonal protection gives the best results everywhere else.
  • Q: How often should I water Pachyveria 'Jewel Tones'?
A: Watch the soil texture rather than the calendar. During warm months, water every 10 to 14 days; in winter, every 3 to 4 weeks. Once soil dries out completely, it is ready for the next watering.

Q: Is it safe around cats and dogs?
A: Pachyveria 'Jewel Tones' is non-toxic and safe for both cats and dogs, making it suitable for pet owners.

Q: How much light does 'Jewel Tones' need indoors?
A: Place it in a bright window with at least 4 to 6 hours of light daily, including some direct morning sun. Rotate the pot regularly so all sides develop color evenly and the rosette stays compact.

    Q: Can I propagate it?
A: Yes, 'Jewel Tones' propagates well from offsets that form naturally as it clusters. Gently separate a pup from the mother plant, let it callous for a day or two, then pot it in dry succulent mix.

Q: How big does 'Jewel Tones' get?
A: A single rosette typically reaches 3 to 5 inches across, though clusters spread wider over time. It stays compact and tidy, perfect for small containers and windowsills.

    Q: Is this plant rare?
A: 'Jewel Tones' is considered rare. Its color range in dusty mint green, soft lavender, and blush tones, combined with its natural clustering habit, sets it apart from more common succulent varieties.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
