  •   Monstera 'Thai Constellation' is a rare variegated cultivar of the Monstera genus, originating from tropical rainforest regions of Central America. Tissue-culture propagation made this cultivar more accessible than it once was, though it remains scarce among plant enthusiasts everywhere.

Its large fenestrated leaves are splashed with creamy white and soft yellow variegation that scatters across the green surface like constellations across a night sky. The variegation stays stable and consistent through new growth, unlike some other variegated monsteras, and its upright vining habit gives it a dramatic presence indoors.

'Thai Constellation' is grown primarily for its foliage rather than flowers, which are extremely rare in indoor conditions. It naturally humidifies the air around it and purifies indoor air by filtering formaldehyde and other toxins.

This climbing houseplant works as a statement piece in living rooms, home offices, and kitchens where ambient moisture supports its preference for high humidity. Once settled in its spot, it becomes sensitive to being moved, so choose its location with care and keep it on a high shelf or elevated surface away from cats and dogs. It can be propagated via stem cuttings with at least one node in water or moist aroid mix, though rooting takes longer than with non-variegated monsteras.

  •   Monstera 'Thai Constellation' grows well in medium to bright indirect light and scorches easily in harsh direct sun from south-facing windows.

Water it thoroughly every 7–10 days, allowing the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings, and reduce frequency in winter.

'Thai Constellation' grows well in a chunky, well-draining mix of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark to prevent root rot.

It prefers temperatures between 65–85°F and should never be exposed to frost or temperatures below 50°F.

'Thai Constellation' is a moderate grower that benefits from a specialized aroid fertilizer applied monthly during spring and summer.

It is hardy in USDA Zones 10–12, tolerating no frost and struggling below 50°F. It grows outdoors in southern Florida, coastal and southern California, southern Texas, Arizona's low desert zones, and Hawaii. In Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and parts of Nevada and the Oregon coast, it can stay outside in summer but must be brought inside well before any chance of cold snaps.
  • Q: How much light does Monstera 'Thai Constellation' need?
A: A spot a few feet from an east or west window works best. South-facing windows cause afternoon scorch.

Q: Is this plant toxic to pets?
A: Monstera 'Thai Constellation' is toxic to cats and dogs. The sap causes skin and paw irritation; ingestion causes mouth and stomach upset.

Q: How fast does 'Thai Constellation' grow?
A: Growth rate depends on conditions; new leaves emerge more frequently in warm, humid environments with consistent feeding.

Q: Can I propagate this plant?
A: 'Thai Constellation' can be propagated from stem cuttings containing at least one node. Root cuttings in water or moist aroid soil; rooting takes several weeks.

Q: Why is 'Thai Constellation' so rare and expensive?
A: Stable variegation cannot be grown from seed; tissue culture and cuttings require specialized propagation methods that limit production volume.

Q: Can it go outside in summer?
A: Move it to a sheltered outdoor spot with bright indirect light for the warm months, but provide cover from rain and bring it back inside before temperatures drop below 60°F.

    🌿 For Houseplants
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging as soon as possible and review the care instructions included with your order. Water based on your plant’s needs, making sure not to overwater.
Houseplants may need a short adjustment period after arrival. Give your plant time to acclimate to its new space before placing it with other plants. You can gently clean the leaves if needed, and wait to fertilize until it has settled in. Always check soil moisture instead of watering on a fixed schedule.
