  •   Kalanchoe Panamensis - Kalanchoe marnieriana is a rare succulent from the Crassulaceae family, native to the rocky, semi-arid landscapes of Madagascar. It has a devoted following among collectors for its sculptural form and straightforward care requirements.

It grows in an upright, clustering habit with arching stems lined with stacked, rounded blue-green paddle-shaped leaves. Each leaf wears a slightly powdery coating and develops rosy-pink to reddish margins when given bright light.

Kalanchoe Panamensis is a winter blooming succulent, producing clusters of small, pendulous coral to orange-pink tubular flowers from late winter into spring. A drop in nighttime temperatures around 55 to 60°F in autumn for four to six weeks triggers blooming. The plant releases oxygen at night, a bonus for bedroom placement.

You can leave it up to ten days without water. Move it outdoors in summer to boost growth, but keep it under cover away from heavy rain. Keep it on a high shelf well out of reach of cats, dogs, and small children, as they should not nibble or eat the plant.

  •   Kalanchoe Panamensis - Kalanchoe marnieriana grows well in bright indirect light or partial sun, though direct south-window sun can scorch its leaves.

Water it deeply every 10 to 14 days in summer, reducing to once every 3 to 4 weeks in winter, letting soil dry fully between waterings.

Kalanchoe Panamensis does best in a fast-draining cactus and perlite mix to prevent root rot.

It prefers temperatures between 60 and 85°F and should be protected from frost below 50°F.

Kalanchoe Panamensis is a slow to moderate grower that benefits from balanced liquid fertilizer applied monthly during spring and summer only.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 to 11, tolerating temperatures down to around 25 to 30°F only briefly and with protection. It grows outdoors year-round in Florida, Hawaii, Southern California, coastal Oregon, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi. Parts of New Mexico, North Carolina, and the milder pockets of the Pacific Northwest can also support it with seasonal shelter.
  • Q: How often should I water Kalanchoe Panamensis - Kalanchoe marnieriana?
A: During the growing season, allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. In winter, water less frequently as the plant enters dormancy.

Q: Is it toxic to cats and dogs?
A: Kalanchoe Panamensis - Kalanchoe marnieriana is not safe for pets to consume. Keep it on a high shelf well out of reach of cats, dogs, and small children.

Q: What light conditions does Kalanchoe Panamensis need to bloom?
A: Bright indirect light or partial sun encourages blooming, though the temperature drop in autumn is the main trigger. Direct south-facing sun can burn the leaves.

Q: Can I propagate from cuttings?
A: Stem cuttings root easily when the cut end is allowed to callous for a day or two before placement in dry succulent mix. Roots establish within 2 to 4 weeks.

Q: Does Kalanchoe Panamensis grow quickly?
A: It grows slowly to moderately. Balanced liquid fertilizer applied monthly during spring and summer can support steady development.

    Q: Is it actually rare?
A: Kalanchoe Panamensis is considered rare compared to common kalanchoe varieties, making it a valued addition to collector collections.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
