The plant's rounded, segmented body reaches only a few inches tall and wide, making it suitable for desks, shelves, and small spaces. The stems are cylindrical and pale green, marked by distinct vertical ridges that give the plant structural form. Thin spines run along the ridges in neat rows. The form remains naturally compact without pruning or shaping.
Small white or pale pink flowers bloom in late spring to early summer, emerging from the crown of the plant in rings around the upper stem. Blooms appear each year, though the plant will flower indoors only if it receives a temperature drop at night. It tolerates dry heated air from indoor heating systems.
It prefers temperatures between 50-75°F and requires a night temperature drop of 10-15°F to bloom reliably indoors.
Perfect For Every Occasion: housewarming, thank-you gift, birthday party favor, teacher appreciation, corporate or client gift, employee appreciation, just because
