The Fern 'Heart' also known as the Heart Leaf Fern or Tongue Fern, is a delicate, evergreen dwarf fern treasured for its glossy, uniquely heart-shaped fronds (leaves) and fuzzy, dark stems (petioles). It is often found growing as an epiphyte in its native habitat, meaning it naturally grows on the surface of trees or rocks rather than in the soil.
Its main draw is its unique, thick, and somewhat leathery heart-shaped leaves, giving it a romantic and whimsical appeal perfect for close display on desks or shelves. It is also non-toxic to pets, making it a safe choice for homes with cats and dogs.

Bright, indirect light is best. Tolerates lower light, but growth may slow. Crucially, avoid direct sunlight, as it will easily scorch the delicate fronds.
Keep the soil consistently moist, but never soggy or waterlogged. Allow the top inch of soil to feel slightly dry before watering again.
A rich, well-draining, and organic-rich potting mix is essential.
This plant should be fertilized once during the growing season (spring/summer) with diluted houseplant fertilizer.
