Rhombophyllum dolabriforme, more commonly known as Elkhorn Plant, is a low semi-shrub Mesemb with multiple upright branches that can reach up to 12 inches (30 cm) in height. Its green leaves are vertically flattened, about 1.2 inches (3 cm) long with an axe-like shape, tooth-like tips and translucent dots all over.
From mid-spring, R. dolabriforme produces large yellow daisy like flowers up to 1.6 inches (4 cm) in diameter with numerous thin petals. Its growing season is in the spring and summer and it becomes dormant during winter.
All of the plants will be shipped bare root.
Porous and well-drained potting mix.
Full sun to Partial sun.
Water thoroughly only when soil is dry to the touch, then let drain completely. Reduce watering to a minimum in the winter.
R. dolabriforme is quite cold-hardy and can tolerate mild cold winters outside. Most can survive temperatures down to freezing point.
Repot during its active period, starting in spring.
You can propagate R. dolabriforme from cuttings. Let the cut callous over for a few days before planting shallowly in well-drained soil.

Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grown in, depending on availability or time of year.
Provide porous soil with adequate drainage, pots with drainage hole are recommended. Bright, filtered light and ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Never let your succulents sit in water. Do NOT water on the leaves. If you water from beneath by letting the plant sit in a saucer of water, make sure to pour off any excess water after a few minutes.
The hotter it is outside, the faster your soil will dry out, so you’ll need to water more often if you live in a hot area. Water with caution in winter, as the plant can lose its roots if the soil stays cold and wet for extended periods; protect from frost to prevent scarring.
