'Painted Lady' forms tight, symmetrical rosettes of pale gray-green leaves tipped with soft rosy-pink edges. The fleshy, spoon-shaped leaves are dusted with a powdery coating that gives the plant a frosted appearance. It grows in a clustering habit, producing offsets freely and forming a low mound over time.
The plant produces cheerful orange-yellow bell-shaped flowers on arching stems, typically blooming in late winter to early spring. A nighttime temperature drop encourages blooming and mimics the cool desert nights of its native habitat.
'Painted Lady' does well when moved outside for the summer months but needs shelter from heavy rain to protect its leaves and roots. The clustering growth style means you will have plenty of offsets to propagate and share. It is non-toxic to cats and dogs, making it a safe choice for pet-owning households.
