  •   Echeveria Colorata is a rosette-shaped succulent in the Crassulaceae family, native to the rocky hillsides of Mexico. It has adapted to grow in dry, low-humidity environments with excellent drainage, making it a hardy collector plant for homes across many US climates.

The plant forms a tight, upright rosette of thick, spoon-shaped leaves in soft green tones with vivid pink to red margins that deepen in bright light. The leaf tips come to a pointed tip, giving it a precise look. Growth is relatively narrow rather than a wide spreader, so it fits well in small spaces and curated plant displays.

It produces tall, arching bloom stalks in spring and summer, bearing coral-pink to orange-red bell-shaped flowers. Blooms are not fragrant but stand out visually against the rosette's pastel foliage. A nighttime temperature drop in autumn can trigger a bloom cycle.

Echeveria Colorata is a slow grower. It is non-toxic to cats and dogs, so it can sit at any height in a cat or dog-filled home. Move it outdoors into a sheltered spot during summer, but always protect it from rain since excess moisture causes rot. The plant tolerates dry, heated air well but should stay away from direct air conditioning or heater vents.

  •   Echeveria Colorata grows well in bright indirect light but can scorch in harsh south-facing windows without a sheer curtain.

Water it every 10 to 14 days in summer and every 3 to 4 weeks in winter, letting soil dry completely between waterings.

Echeveria Colorata performs best in a gritty cactus and succulent mix blended with extra perlite for fast drainage.

It prefers temperatures between 60 and 80°F and should be protected from frost below 25°F.

Echeveria Colorata needs only a light balanced fertilizer once monthly during spring and summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 through 11 and tolerates brief dips to around 25°F before frost damage sets in. It grows outdoors year-round in southern California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Nevada's warmer southern valleys, New Mexico's low-elevation regions, parts of Arkansas and North Carolina, and along the mild Oregon and Washington coasts.
  • Q: How often should I water Echeveria Colorata?
A: Every 10 to 14 days during warm months, pulling back to every 3 to 4 weeks in winter. Check soil moisture by inserting your finger about an inch deep; water only when bone-dry.

Q: Is it safe around cats and dogs?
A: Echeveria Colorata is non-toxic and poses no risk to cats or dogs. Rotate the plant regularly for even, symmetrical growth and avoid harsh direct south-facing sun, which can scorch leaf tips.

Q: What is the growth rate of this plant?
A: Echeveria Colorata develops slowly over seasons, making it ideal for patient collectors who prefer minimal repotting.

Q: Can Echeveria Colorata go outside in summer?
A: Move it to a bright, sheltered outdoor spot for the warm months. Keep it away from rain and bring it back indoors before autumn temperatures drop.

Q: How do I propagate this succulent?
A: Leaf cuttings and offsets root easily in spring or summer. Let cut ends air-dry for one to two days, then lay them on dry succulent mix until roots form.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
