  •   Crassula 'Imperialis' - Giant Watch Chain is a rare trailing succulent that belongs to the jade plant family, prized by collectors for its distinctive cascading growth habit. This drought tolerant beauty originates from South Africa's rocky outcrops where it naturally drapes over cliff faces and stone formations.

The Crassula 'Imperialis' - Giant Watch Chain features tightly stacked, triangular leaves that form elegant chains along flexible stems, creating the signature "watch chain" appearance that gives this rare succulent its common name. The thick, fleshy leaves display a beautiful blue-green to gray-green coloration with subtle pink edges when grown in bright light, and the trailing stems can cascade up to 2-3 feet long at maturity.

This watch chain succulent produces small, star-shaped white to pale pink flowers in late winter to early spring when mature plants receive adequate light and a brief cool period. The blooms appear in small clusters along the trailing stems and add delicate charm to the architectural structure of the plant.

Crassula 'Imperialis' - Giant Watch Chain thrives as a hanging basket specimen indoors and can move outside for summer enjoyment, handling balcony wind and rain with ease. This low maintenance trailing succulent grows well under office LEDs, tolerates dry heated air, and shows when thirsty through slight wilting, making it beginner-friendly despite its rare collector status. Keep this indoor plant on a high shelf out of reach since cats and dogs shouldn't nibble the foliage, and it's best placed away from small children.

  •   Crassula 'Imperialis' - Giant Watch Chain thrives in direct sun to low-light conditions and grows successfully under office LEDs.

Water Crassula 'Imperialis' - Giant Watch Chain every 10-14 days, allowing soil to dry completely between waterings.

Crassula 'Imperialis' - Giant Watch Chain needs well-draining cactus and succulent soil mix with added perlite or pumice.

Crassula 'Imperialis' - Giant Watch Chain prefers temperatures between 65-80°F (18-27°C) and tolerates brief drops to 35°F (2°C).

Crassula 'Imperialis' - Giant Watch Chain is a moderate grower that rarely needs fertilizer in proper succulent soil.

Crassula 'Imperialis' - Giant Watch Chain thrives in USDA hardiness zones 9-11 and can tolerate brief temperatures down to 35°F (2°C). These zones encompass Florida, southern California, southern Texas, Arizona, Hawaii, Louisiana, coastal South Carolina, southern Georgia, southern Alabama, southern Mississippi, Nevada, and parts of coastal Oregon and North Carolina. The plant can stay outdoors year-round in these regions, while gardeners in cooler zones can enjoy Crassula 'Imperialis' - Giant Watch Chain as a seasonal outdoor plant during warmer months.

  • Provide porous soil with adequate drainage, pots with drainage hole are recommended. Bright, filtered light and ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Never let your succulents sit in water. Do NOT water on the leaves. If you water from beneath by letting the plant sit in a saucer of water, make sure to pour off any excess water after a few minutes. The hotter it is outside, the faster your soil will dry out, so you’ll need to water more often if you live in a hot area. Water with caution in winter, as the plant can lose its roots if the soil stays cold and wet for extended periods; protect from frost to prevent scarring.
