Crassula Watch Chain

  • Crassula ‘Imperialis’ is similar to Crassula muscosa but thicker with tight watch-chain stems. It retains leaves throughout the year.

It can grow up to 8 inches (20 cm). This is a great mat-forming succulent plant.

The flowers are little and yellow-green that bloom from late summer to late fall.

All of the plants will be shipped bare root.
  • Full Sun.

Porous and well-drained succulent mix. Optimal pH is around 6.0 (slightly acidic).

Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch, then let drain completely. Avoid letting water sit for too long in the soil to prevent rot and fungal diseases.

Average summer temperatures from 65ºF/18ºC to 70ºF/21ºC are ideal. In winter, it can survive temperatures as low as 50ºF/10ºC.

Feed with a controlled-release fertilizer at the beginning of the growing season.

You can propagate Crassula Giant Watch Chain by division, offsets or leaf cuttings. The easiest way is to propagate from a single leaf: put the leaf in a succulent or cacti mix, then cover until it sprouts.

Generally non-toxic to humans and animals
  • Zone 9a to 10b: from 20 °F (−6.7 °C) to 40 °F (+4.4 °C).

Plant orders are shipped within 3-5 days depending on availability of the plant. We ship our plants Monday through Friday, all twelve months of the year! If you need your order urgently, please message us so we can upgrade your shipping (additional cost applied). Here is our blog about the shipping process and packaging. We do not ship outside of the continental United States.

*** All of our packages are sterilized before leaving the door.
  • We only ship out beautiful, healthy plants! Please track your package and open it immediately upon arrival. If you receive your package and are not satisfied, please message us immediately. Fragile plants such as bearpaw, baby toe, etc. may break or loose a few of their leaves during transport. Please contact us for replacements if your plants are severely damaged. We'll try our best to accommodate you. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grown in, depending on availability or time of year.
  • Provide porous soil with adequate drainage, pots with drainage hole are recommended. Bright, filtered light and ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Never let your succulents sit in water. Do NOT water on the leaves. If you water from beneath by letting the plant sit in a saucer of water, make sure to pour off any excess water after a few minutes. The hotter it is outside, the faster your soil will dry out, so you’ll need to water more often if you live in a hot area. Water with caution in winter, as the plant can lose its roots if the soil stays cold and wet for extended periods; protect from frost to prevent scarring.

Would definitely trade for hair!

This has been one of my wishlist plants for a while. I just love those jagged, intensely green tendrils. I was so happy to recieve this, and pleasantly surprised how lush it was straight out of the bubble wrap! I'm used to plants being a little pekid after shipping (understandable, I'm ragged after a long journey, too) but you would have never been able to tell the watch chain had been in a dark box for a few days! What a wonderful sight, all those tiny leaves reaching up to say hello. So much love! It's been named James after one of the main characters in Gift of the Magi.

Crassula Watch Chain

My little plant arrived securely wrapped and undamaged. I put it by a window where it gets bright light most of the day and, after two days, it got all perky. I water it once a week and it's already growing. I'm very happy with my purchase and totally recommend Succulents Box.
