Crassula Red Pagoda

Crassula Red Pagoda, also known as Crassula Shark Tooth, is a fascinating succulent with pointed triangular leaves that are densely packed like origami. With maximum sun exposure, the foliage can turn from dark green to striking light yellow with red tips. Edgy and unique, this succulent is a great addition to any planter or rock garden. It can be grown as a small-scale groundcover, or on hanging basket due to its branching habit. In summer, it produces small starry white flowers.

Some specimens are redder than others. The more sun you give it, the redder it gets. ‘Red Pagoda’s’ color is brightest in winter in response to short, cool nights and bright sunlight.

⚠️"Bare Root" option: plants are shipped without soil and plastic pot.
⚠️"Plastic Pot" option: plants are shipped in original plastic pot with soil, however, there's risk of etiolation as this species grows very fast and may continue to grow during transport. Signs of etiolation include loss of color and stretch stems. We cannot be held responsible if etiolation happens when you choose "Plastic Pot" option, so please choose wisely.

Sun exposure: Full sun to partial shade

Water: Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch, then let drain completely. Avoid letting water sit for too long in the soil to prevent rot and fungal diseases. Reduce watering in the winter.

Soil: Well-Drained, Porous, Gritty. Optimal pH is around 6.0 (slightly acidic).

Temperature: Average summer temperatures from 65ºF/18ºC to 70ºF/21ºC are ideal. In winter, it can survive temperatures as low as 50ºF/10ºC.

Fertilizer: Feed once with a controlled-release fertilizer at the beginning of the growing season.

Propagation: You can propagate Crassula
Red Pagoda by division, offsets or leaf cuttings. The easiest way is to propagate from a single leaf: put the leaf in a succulent or cacti mix, then cover until it sprouts.

Here is our blog about the shipping process and packaging

We do not ship outside of the continental United States.

We only ship out beautiful, healthy plants! Please track your package and open it immediately upon arrival. If you receive your package and are not satisfied, please message us immediately. Fragile plants such as bearpaw, baby toe, etc. may break or loose a few of their leaves during transport. Please contact us for replacements if your plants are severely damaged. We'll try our best to accommodate you.

Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grown in, depending on availability or time of year. Sedums such as Cherry Tart and Lime Zinger are dormant in the winter, i.e. they wilt, start dropping leaves, and look dead. It's simply a survival mechanism that help succulents stay alive over the cold winter and gear up for warmer days ahead.

Provide porous soil with adequate drainage, pots with drainage hole are recommended. Bright, filtered light and ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Never let your succulents sit in water. Do NOT water on the leaves. If you water from beneath by letting the plant sit in a saucer of water, make sure to pour off any excess water after a few minutes.

The hotter it is outside, the faster your soil will dry out, so you’ll need to water more often if you live in a hot area. Water with caution in winter, as the plant can lose its roots if the soil stays cold and wet for extended periods; protect from frost to prevent scarring.

This plant is stunning!

Oh my gosh! This plant is stunning! All the plants I ordered came packaged so well that they didn't loose a leaf. And this red pagoda is healthy and already growing in it's new pot. The tips are getting more red now that it's getting some direct sun. Love it!
