  •   Cotyledon tomentosa subsp. ladismithiensis, native to South Africa, is also known as Cotyledon Bear Paw or Bear’s Paw. It is a succulent shrublet up to 12 inches (30 cm) tall. It is densely branched and covered with fine tiny white hairs, giving it a velvety look. The leaves are up to 2 inches (5 cm) long, fleshy, yellow-green, sometimes with reddish tips. These leaves usually have from 1 to 3 apical teeth, resembling the "bear claws".

Cotyledon Bear's Paw produces clusters of yellow to orange-red bell-shaped flowers in late spring.

This plant is fragile so it will be shipped bare root carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and recycled newspaper.

Fragile plants such as bearpaw, baby toe, etc. may break or loose a few of their leaves during transport. Please contact us for replacements if your plants are severely damaged. We'll try our best to accommodate you. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grown in, depending on availability or time of year.
  • Provide porous soil with adequate drainage, pots with drainage hole are recommended. Bright, filtered light and ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Never let your succulents sit in water. Do NOT water on the leaves. If you water from beneath by letting the plant sit in a saucer of water, make sure to pour off any excess water after a few minutes. The hotter it is outside, the faster your soil will dry out, so you’ll need to water more often if you live in a hot area. Water with caution in winter, as the plant can lose its roots if the soil stays cold and wet for extended periods; protect from frost to prevent scarring.

This bear paw succulent is beyond adorable. It traveled all the way to Central Florida and arrived well packaged and no damage. I have since put it in it’s own container and it is doing just fine! Did I mention how adorable and fuzzy this succulent is!!

Excellent Shipping

Got a couple of these shipped, they came in perfect condition. Bear Paw is usually more on the fragile side, so I was happy to see only two total leaves fell off. Perfect for propagation. Recommended!

Fantastic! Everything arrived in great condition. We only lost 1 leaf off the bear paw which is amazing considering how delicate they are. I will definitely order from succulent box again!
