    •   Chinese Evergreen Pictum Tricolor is a tropical houseplant in the Araceae family, native to Southeast Asia. It grows as a compact, upright plant with foliage that appeals to collectors of rare indoor greenery.

        The leaves are the main draw: they emerge with patches of cream, gray, and deep red or burgundy tones over a dark green base, and the color pattern shifts slightly as new growth appears. It stays relatively compact, reaching 12-18 inches tall with a modest spread, and the leaves sit close along the stems. The foliage texture is smooth and waxy, and each leaf tapers slightly to a point.

        Pictum Tricolor flowers indoors are rare and inconspicuous, but the plant is grown almost entirely for its tricolor foliage. The leaves continue to develop deeper burgundy tones over time as it matures.

        Move it outside for summer in warm climates to encourage growth and stronger color.
