  •   Aloe 'Tropical' is a captivating succulent native to arid regions, known for its resilience and distinctive form. Belonging to the Asphodelaceae family, this plant has adapted to thrive in challenging environments, making it a popular choice for indoor cultivation.

'Tropical' features thick, fleshy leaves arranged in a rosette pattern. The leaves are typically green, sometimes with subtle patterns or edges that can change color in response to environmental conditions. Its structure is compact and architectural.

While not primarily grown for its blooms, Aloe 'Tropical' can produce small, tubular flowers, often in shades of red or orange, typically during its mature stage. These blooms usually appear on a tall stalk extending from the center of the rosette. It can stay outdoors in autumn.

This succulent tolerates dry heated air and can survive a ten-day trip alone. It shows when thirsty through wilting and needs rotating for even growth. Keep it on a high shelf out of reach.

  •   Aloe 'Tropical' thrives in bright indirect light but can also grow under office LEDs or in low-light conditions.

Water it every 10-14 days, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings.

'Tropical' does best in a well-draining succulent or cactus mix.

It prefers temperatures between 65-80°F and can tolerate slightly cooler conditions.

'Tropical' is a slow grower that does not require frequent fertilization, feeding lightly once in spring.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11. It grows outdoors in Florida, California, Texas, Arizona, and other southern states. It can move outside for summer and needs cover from rain.

  • Provide porous soil with adequate drainage, pots with drainage hole are recommended. Bright, filtered light and ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Never let your succulents sit in water. Do NOT water on the leaves. If you water from beneath by letting the plant sit in a saucer of water, make sure to pour off any excess water after a few minutes. The hotter it is outside, the faster your soil will dry out, so you’ll need to water more often if you live in a hot area. Water with caution in winter, as the plant can lose its roots if the soil stays cold and wet for extended periods; protect from frost to prevent scarring.
