  •   Aeonium 'Phoenix Flame' is a clustering succulent in the Crassulacae family native to the Canary Islands. It forms dark rosettes in the rocky coastal terrain and Mediterranean climates of its origin, where sun-loving aeoniums spread across hillsides.

The plant forms tight, layered rosettes with spoon-shaped leaves that shift from deep burgundy and fiery red to green depending on light exposure. Each rosette reaches 6 to 12 inches across, and the leaves have a glossy, waxy texture. Over time, it develops into a multi-stemmed clustering display as offsets multiply, creating a mounding form wider than a single rosette alone.

When grown with cooler nighttime temperatures, it produces cone-shaped clusters of small flowers typical of the aeonium genus. Plants kept consistently warm indoors may not flower readily, as they require a drop in temperature to trigger blooming. You can leave it up to ten days without water.

Move it outside for summer or let it enjoy the autumn garden, then bring it back inside before hard frost. Keep it away from AC and heater vents, and rotate it regularly for even rosette growth.

  •   Aeonium 'Phoenix Flame' grows well in bright indirect light, partial sun, or full sun outdoors, though it may scorch in intense south-facing windows.

Water it every 10 to 14 days during active growth, cutting back to once a month during summer dormancy when growth slows.

Aeonium 'Phoenix Flame' does best in a well-draining succulent and cactus mix blended with perlite for excellent drainage and aeration.

It prefers temperatures between 25 and 75°F and appreciates protection from hard freezes below 25°F.

Aeonium 'Phoenix Flame' is a moderate grower that benefits from a diluted balanced fertilizer applied once or twice during the active growing season.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 through 11, tolerating brief dips to around 25°F before frost damage becomes a concern. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, and coastal Oregon. It also grows well in warmer pockets of Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi, while gardeners in cooler states can enjoy it as a seasonal patio plant brought indoors before winter.
  • Q: Is Aeonium 'Phoenix Flame' safe around cats and dogs?
A: It is non-toxic and safe for both cats and dogs.

Q: How do I know when the soil is too dry?
A: Aeonium 'Phoenix Flame' will pull away from the pot edges and feel completely dry to the touch between waterings.

Q: Can Aeonium 'Phoenix Flame' handle full sun outdoors?
A: It does well in partial to full sun outdoors, especially in mild climates. In hot inland areas, afternoon shade prevents leaf scorch.

Q: How big does it get?
A: Aeonium 'Phoenix Flame' forms clustering rosettes that reach 6 to 12 inches across, with the whole plant mounding wider over time as offsets multiply.

Q: How do I propagate Aeonium 'Phoenix Flame'?
A: Remove a healthy rosette stem, let the cut end callous for a day or two, then pot it in dry succulent mix. Roots usually develop within a few weeks.

Q: Is this variety difficult to grow?
A: Aeonium 'Phoenix Flame' is drought-tolerant and beginner-friendly, requiring only bright light, infrequent water, and well-draining soil.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
