  •   Aeonium Luteovariegatum is a rare variegated succulent in the Crassulaceae family, native to the Canary Islands. It evolved on rocky, sun-drenched hillsides where excellent drainage is the norm, and it adapts well to life as a container plant or garden showpiece.

Upright, clustering rosettes form on woody stems as the plant matures, creating a distinctive form. The spoon-shaped leaves are striped in creamy yellow and green, with the golden margins and green centers intensifying under bright light. Rosettes stack vertically to produce a tree aeonium form that stands apart in any collection.

Aeonium Luteovariegatum produces tall conical clusters of small yellow flowers in late winter to spring, rising from the center of mature rosettes. Individual rosettes are monocarpic, meaning they flower once and then die back, but surrounding offsets carry on. A slight drop in nighttime temperatures encourages it to set buds, so a cool windowsill or outdoor spell in autumn can trigger bloom.

Move it outside in summer and bring it indoors before frost threatens. It is sensitive to being moved too often, so once you find its location, let it stay. Aeonium Luteovariegatum is non-toxic to cats and dogs. You can leave it up to ten days without water.

  •   Aeonium Luteovariegatum grows well in bright indirect light to partial sun indoors, and tolerates full sun when gradually acclimated outdoors.

Water it deeply every 10-14 days during the growing season, reducing to once monthly during summer dormancy.

Aeonium Luteovariegatum grows well in a fast-draining cactus and perlite mix to prevent root rot between waterings.

It prefers temperatures between 65°F and 75°F and should be protected from frost below 25°F.

Aeonium Luteovariegatum is a moderate grower that benefits from diluted balanced fertilizer once or twice during spring.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 through 11, tolerating brief dips to around 25°F before needing protection. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi. Coastal parts of Oregon, Washington, and warmer pockets of North Carolina and Virginia can also support it with minimal winter shelter.
  • Q: How much light does Aeonium Luteovariegatum need?
A: Avoid prolonged direct south-facing window exposure, as intense midday sun can scorch the leaves; partial sun indoors or a bright east or west-facing window works best.

Q: Is this plant safe for pets?
A: Aeonium Luteovariegatum is non-toxic to cats and dogs.

Q: How often should I water Aeonium Luteovariegatum?
A: Check soil moisture by inserting your finger an inch deep; water only when the soil feels completely dry, typically every 10-14 days in the growing season.

Q: How do I propagate it?
A: Aeonium Luteovariegatum is easily propagated by gently removing offsets or taking stem cuttings, allowing the cut end to callous for a day or two before planting in dry succulent mix; new roots establish within two to four weeks.

    Q: Is Aeonium Luteovariegatum rare?
A: Yes, it is considered a rare variegated aeonium not commonly found in standard garden centers.

Q: Can it handle a vacation?
A: Water Aeonium Luteovariegatum well before leaving; it will remain stable for up to 10 days without additional watering in cool conditions.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
