  •   Sedum Stahlii, also called Coral Bells Sedum, is a drought-tolerant trailing succulent native to the highlands of Mexico. It belongs to the Crassulaceae family and grows in the rocky, sun-drenched terrain of its native habitat with minimal rainfall.

The plant has small, plump, bead-like leaves that shift from green to vivid red depending on sun exposure and temperature. It grows in a clumping, trailing habit with cascading stems lined with gem-like foliage, making it exceptional in hanging baskets or trailing over pot edges. The leaves intensify to deep red and coral tones under bright light or during cooler months.

Sedum Stahlii produces small yellow star-shaped flowers that typically appear in late winter to spring. The blooms add a bright seasonal accent to its already colorful foliage during the cooler months. Propagation is simple: snip a stem or individual leaf, let the cut callous for a day or two, then place on dry succulent soil and mist lightly until roots establish. It is pet-friendly and safe for households with cats or dogs.

  •   Coral Bells Sedum - Mexican Stahlii grows well in bright indirect light, partial sun, or full sun, with leaf color deepening under stronger direct exposure.

Water it thoroughly every 10 to 14 days during the growing season, then reduce to once every 3 to 4 weeks in winter.

Sedum Stahlii grows well in a fast-draining succulent or cactus mix combined with coarse perlite for optimal root health.

It prefers temperatures between 60 and 80°F and is not frost hardy below 25°F.

Sedum Stahlii grows at a moderate pace and benefits from a light balanced fertilizer applied once monthly during the active growing season.

It is hardy in USDA zones 7 through 11. It tolerates brief dips to around 0°F in zone 7 with protection and thrives year-round in warm and mild climates like Florida, California, Texas, Arizona, Hawaii, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Nevada, and New Mexico. It also performs well through zone 7 states including North Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, Virginia, Oklahoma, and coastal Oregon.
  • Q: Is Coral Bells Sedum - Mexican Stahlii pet friendly?
A: It is non-toxic and safe for cats and dogs.

Q: What happens if I overwater this plant?
A: Coral Bells Sedum - Mexican Stahlii develops yellow or translucent leaves when overwatered or when drainage is poor, which causes root rot. Let the soil dry completely between waterings to prevent this. Place it near an east or south-facing window for best leaf color.

Q: How do I propagate this plant?
A: Sedum Stahlii propagates easily from stem cuttings or individual leaves. Let the cut end callous for a day or two, place it on dry succulent soil, mist lightly, and roots will establish in a few weeks.

Q: What window direction works best for indoor growing?
A: Coral Bells Sedum performs best near an east or south-facing window where it receives several hours of direct sun daily. Afternoon sun exposure can cause leaf scorch in extreme heat above 85°F, so provide afternoon shade during the hottest months.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
