  •   Sedum Suzie Q English is a clumping and trailing succulent in the Crassulaceae family, native to rocky, well-drained habitats across the Northern Hemisphere. Sedums originate from Europe, Asia, and North America, where they grow in sparse, low-nutrient environments. This species offers serious drought tolerance and low maintenance needs.

It forms dense rosettes of fleshy, plump leaves that spill over pot edges as the plant matures. The foliage shifts color with light levels and seasonal temperature changes, moving from green to burgundy-red tones depending on sun exposure and stress. The compact, layered growth creates a dense appearance whether planted alone or grouped with other low-water varieties.

When it blooms, small star-shaped flowers appear and attract pollinators. The plant produces pollen and allergens during flowering season. Rotating the plant regularly ensures even, symmetrical growth and keeps all sides receiving equal light exposure.

Leave it in one spot once it settles in, as it is sensitive to being moved frequently. Move it outside in summer for a bright location with afternoon shade in very hot climates, then bring it back inside before frost. You can leave it up to ten days without water. It tolerates dry heated indoor air well but is sensitive to direct airflow from AC vents or heaters.

  •   Sedum Suzie Q English grows well in bright indirect light, partial sun, or full sun but may scorch in intense south-facing windows.

Water it every 10-14 days in summer and reduce to once a month in winter, allowing soil to dry fully between waterings.

Sedum 'Suzie Q' does best in a gritty, fast-draining succulent or cactus mix amended with perlite for extra drainage.

It handles a broad temperature range from about 20°F up to 90°F, with some frost tolerance depending on conditions.

Sedum 'Suzie Q' is a moderate grower that benefits from a light, balanced fertilizer once in spring and once in early summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 5 through 11, tolerating frost down to around 20°F in its hardier range. It grows year-round outdoors in zones 9, 10, and 11 across Florida, California, Texas, Arizona, Hawaii, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and Nevada. In zones 5 through 8, it stays outdoors through autumn and can overwinter in milder microclimates across Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Kentucky, West Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and Delaware.
  • Q: How often should I water Sedum Suzie Q English?
A: Leaves that look slightly soft or wilted indicate the plant is ready for water. Check soil moisture before watering to avoid oversoaking during cooler months.

Q: Is this plant safe for pets?
A: Sedum Suzie Q English may be harmful if ingested by pets, so keep it out of reach of curious cats and dogs. Always consult your vet if you suspect your pet has eaten any part of the plant.

Q: How much light does Sedum 'Suzie Q' need to color up?
A: Full sun produces the most intense color shifts, though it grows well in bright indirect light or partial sun. Harsh south-facing direct sun can cause leaf scorch.

Q: Can it go outside in summer?
A: Sedum 'Suzie Q' grows well when spending summer outdoors in a bright spot with some afternoon shade in very hot climates. Bring it back inside before temperatures drop toward frost.

Q: How do I encourage even growth in Sedum 'Suzie Q'?
A: Rotate it a quarter turn every week or two so all sides receive equal light. This prevents leaning or uneven growth toward the light source.

Q: What is the hardiness range for this succulent?
A: Sedum 'Suzie Q' is hardy in USDA zones 5 through 11 and tolerates light frost down to about 20°F. In zones 5 and 6 during harsh winters, provide protection or move it indoors to overwinter safely.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
