  •   Graptoveria Amethorum is a rare hybrid succulent bred from Graptopetalum and Echeveria, two genera in the Crassulaceae family native to arid regions of Mexico. Its parent species evolved in rocky, sun-drenched terrain with excellent drainage, traits it inherits alongside a devoted collector following for its drought tolerance and minimal care needs.

The plant forms tight, jewel-like rosettes in soft gray-green tones that blush lavender or violet at the tips under bright light. Leaves are thick, fleshy, and spoon-shaped, coated with a powdery farina that gives the plant its frosted appearance. As a clustering succulent, it gradually produces offsets around the base, building into a full mound over time.

It benefits from cool nighttime temperature drops, which encourage it to set flower buds. While confirmed bloom details for this rare hybrid are limited, the color shift from gray-green to lavender occurs year-round in response to light and temperature changes.

You can leave it up to ten days without water. Move it outside in summer to a bright, sheltered spot, but cover it or bring it indoors during rain to prevent water pooling in the rosette. Keep it away from direct AC or heater vents, though it handles dry indoor air without issue. Graptoveria Amethorum propagates easily from offsets or individual leaves placed on dry cactus soil, with offsets producing the fastest results.

  •   Graptoveria Amethorum grows well in bright indirect light to partial sun and tolerates full sun with gradual acclimation, though intense south-facing windows may cause leaf scorch.

Water it deeply every 10-14 days during the growing season, letting soil dry completely between waterings, then reduce to once every 3-4 weeks in winter.

Graptoveria Amethorum does best in fast-draining cactus soil blended with perlite or coarse grit at roughly a 1:1 ratio.

It prefers temperatures between 65-80°F and should be protected from frost below 25°F.

Graptoveria Amethorum is a moderate-slow grower that benefits from diluted balanced fertilizer applied once in spring and once in early summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11, tolerating light frost down to around 25°F. It grows outdoors year-round in Florida, California, Texas, Arizona, Hawaii, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi. Coastal Nevada and Oregon also support outdoor growth, and collectors in neighboring Zone 9 edges, including parts of New Mexico, Arkansas, and the Pacific Northwest coast, can enjoy it outdoors through much of the year.
  • Q: How often should I water Graptoveria Amethorum?
A: Every 10-14 days during the growing season with complete soil drying between waterings. In winter, reduce frequency to every 3-4 weeks to prevent root rot.

Q: Is this plant safe around cats and dogs?
A: Graptoveria Amethorum is non-toxic to both cats and dogs, though the waxy sap may cause mild skin or paw irritation on direct contact.

Q: What light conditions does Graptoveria Amethorum need?
A: Rotate it regularly to keep the rosette symmetrical. Once acclimated, it tolerates full sun but can scorch in intense south-facing windows.

Q: How do I propagate it?
A: Graptoveria Amethorum propagates easily from offsets or individual leaves laid on dry cactus soil. Offsets root fastest and produce the most reliable new plants.

Q: Can Graptoveria Amethorum handle being away from home?
A: It survives up to 10 days without water before soil dries to the point where roots begin to suffer, though the rosettes will remain plump and firm during typical short trips.

    Q: Is this plant rare?
A: Graptoveria Amethorum is not commonly found in garden centers and appeals to collectors seeking unusual hybrids with stable growth habits across a range of indoor and outdoor conditions.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
