  •   Euphorbia Guentheri Cactus is a rare drought-tolerant succulent from the Euphorbia genus, native to the arid regions of Madagascar. Like many species in its family, it has adapted to long dry spells. It is an exciting find for collectors and beginners alike.

It gets its common name "sausage spurge" from its distinctly segmented, cylindrical stems that stack and bulge noticeably. The plant grows in an upright habit with green stems and a textured, slightly ridged surface on each segment. Rotate the pot every few weeks to encourage balanced growth across all sides.

It tolerates the dry heated air that drives many houseplants to struggle indoors and shows sensitivity to air blowing directly from AC units or heaters. Position it away from vents. You can leave it up to ten days without water.

Move it outside in summer to a bright, sheltered spot, but protect it from heavy rain and bring it back inside before temperatures drop in autumn. Keep it on a high shelf well out of reach of pets and small children, as the milky sap can cause skin and paw irritation.

  •   Euphorbia Guentheri Cactus grows well in bright indirect light, partial sun, or full sun, ideally near an east or west-facing window.

Water it every two to three weeks during the growing season, cutting back to once a month or less in winter. Always allow the soil to dry completely between waterings.

Euphorbia Guentheri does best in a well-draining cactus and succulent mix, ideally blended with additional perlite or coarse sand.

It prefers temperatures between 60–90°F and should be brought indoors before nights drop below 50°F.

Euphorbia Guentheri is a slow to moderate grower that benefits from diluted balanced fertilizer applied once in spring and once in summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 through 11, where winter temperatures stay above 20–25°F, though it performs best above 50°F. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and coastal Oregon. With seasonal protection, it can succeed in parts of North Carolina, Virginia, and New Mexico.
  • Q: How often should I water Euphorbia Guentheri Cactus?
A: Water every two to three weeks during the growing season. In winter, reduce watering to once a month or less as growth slows and water needs drop significantly.

Q: Is it safe around pets?
A: Euphorbia Guentheri Cactus is not safe for cats and dogs. The milky sap causes skin and paw irritation; keep it on a high shelf out of their reach.

Q: Where should I place Euphorbia Guentheri for best growth?
A: An east or west-facing window receives the steady, indirect light it needs without scorching the stems. Rotating it every few weeks ensures even development on all sides.

Q: Can it survive being left unwatered?
A: Euphorbia Guentheri can tolerate extended dry periods. The stems will soften and appear slightly shriveled when water is needed.

Q: Does Euphorbia Guentheri need humidity?
A: No. It tolerates dry indoor air well and does not require added humidity.

Q: What temperatures does it need?
A: Euphorbia Guentheri performs best between 60–90°F. Temperatures below 50°F at night slow growth and can damage the stems, so move it indoors before autumn chill arrives.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
