  •   Echeveria Imbricata, also called Blue Rose, is a succulent from the Crassulaceae family native to Mexico. It grows in rocky, arid landscapes where bright sun and well-draining soil are standard, and it adapts readily to indoor and outdoor growing conditions alike.

The plant forms tight, symmetrical rosettes of blue-green leaves that stack and overlap like rose petals, which inspired its common name. Each leaf is fleshy and spoon-shaped, coated with a soft powdery layer called farina that gives the foliage a silvery-blue hue deepening with sun exposure. As it matures, it clusters freely, producing offsets that fill a pot with layered rosettes in 2" and 4" sizes commonly available.

In spring and summer, slender arching stems emerge tipped with coral-pink to orange bell-shaped flowers that attract pollinators. Blooms appear most reliably when nighttime temperatures drop slightly, so a cooler windowsill or outdoor placement during warm months encourages flowering. The blossoms are not fragrant, and the contrast between the coral tones and blue-green rosettes creates a visual effect.

You can leave it up to ten days without water. Move it outside during summer to encourage compact growth and deeper color saturation, but shelter it from heavy rain since standing water on the leaves invites rot. It is completely non-toxic to cats and dogs, making it safe for any household, and it works equally well in a sunny windowsill, patio pot, or mixed succulent arrangement.

  •   Blue Rose Echeveria Imbricata grows in bright indirect light, partial sun, or full sun with 4-6 hours of direct light daily.

Water it deeply every 10-14 days during the growing season and reduce to once monthly in winter, allowing soil to dry completely between waterings.

Echeveria Imbricata grows well in a fast-draining cactus and perlite soil mix to prevent root rot.

It prefers temperatures between 65-80°F and is frost-sensitive below 25°F, so bring it indoors before hard freezes.

Echeveria Imbricata is a slow to moderate grower that benefits from a single diluted balanced fertilizer application in spring.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11 and tolerates brief dips to around 25°F before frost damage occurs. It grows outdoors year-round in Florida, California, Texas, Arizona, Hawaii, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi. Gardeners in Nevada and along the Oregon coast can also maintain it outside permanently, while those in cooler regions like North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Arkansas, and New Mexico can keep it on patios through summer and fall before moving it indoors for winter.
  • Q: Is Blue Rose Echeveria Imbricata safe for cats and dogs?
A: It is completely non-toxic and safe to display anywhere in your home around pets.

Q: How can I encourage blooms on my plant?
A: Blue Rose Echeveria Imbricata flowers most reliably when exposed to cooler nighttime temperatures, which naturally occur outdoors in fall and early spring or in a cool indoor location away from heating vents.

Q: Does Echeveria Imbricata need much light to stay compact?
A: Rotate the pot a quarter turn every week or two for even growth, and provide at least 4-6 hours of direct light daily to keep the rosettes tight and symmetrical.

Q: Can I propagate it easily?
A: Echeveria Imbricata is simple to propagate from offsets or individual leaves; separate a healthy offset, let the cut end callous for a couple of days, then place it on well-draining soil.

Q: What size does Blue Rose come in?
A: It is commonly available in 2" pots for smaller starter plants and 4" pots, where specimens already show the clustering rosette habit.

Q: Can I grow it outdoors in winter?
A: Blue Rose survives outdoors year-round in zones 9-11, but in colder regions bring it inside before frost arrives and always protect it from rain to avoid rot.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
