    •   Albuca Namaquensis Augrabie 'Augrabies Hills', also called Augrabies Hills Albuca, is a deciduous succulent bulb native to South Africa. It emerges each growing season from an underground bulb, producing tall, slender flower spikes and narrow green foliage that dies back when conditions are dry.

'Augrabies Hills' grows as a compact clump of thin, strap-like leaves that reach upward from the bulb base. The foliage is medium green and relatively narrow, giving the plant an airy, almost grass-like appearance when in active growth. During dormancy, all visible foliage disappears entirely, leaving behind only the resting bulb beneath the soil surface.

Fragrant yellow-green flowers bloom in spring, arranged along tall spikes that rise well above the foliage. The blooms release a light vanilla scent and appear each season when the bulb receives proper dormancy. After flowering, the plant naturally enters its dry rest period as part of its annual life cycle.

'Augrabies Hills' needs cover from rain to prevent bulb rot during dormancy and should be positioned where water drains away quickly after watering. You can leave it up to ten days without water. It wilts slightly when the soil is bone-dry. In winter, it requires almost no water as the foliage dies back and the bulb rests. It handles drafty spots and tolerates the dry air from heaters and air conditioning. It grows outdoors in southern California, southern Arizona, southern Texas, southern Florida, Hawaii, and coastal regions of the Gulf States where frost is rare or absent.

    •   Albuca Namaquensis Augrabie 'Augrabies Hills' grows well in direct sun or low-light locations, adapting well to varied indoor and outdoor settings.

Water it every 7 to 10 days during the growing season; in winter, reduce watering to once monthly or stop entirely as the bulb rests.

'Augrabies Hills' does best in fast-draining cactus or succulent mix; standard potting soil will cause bulb rot.

It prefers temperatures between 50°F and 75°F and handles cool indoor conditions without difficulty.

'Augrabies Hills' is a slow-growing deciduous bulb that completes one cycle per year; fertilizing is optional and not required for healthy growth.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9, 10, and 11, surviving winter outdoors where temperatures stay above 20°F. It grows outdoors in southern California, southern Arizona, southern Texas, southern Florida, Hawaii, and coastal regions of the Gulf States.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
