  •  Adenium arabicum ia a remarkable succulent plant with a grotesquely swollen trunk which resembles a miniature baobab tree. It is a local or morphological form of Adenium obesum, but commonly used to be know as a separate species and very popular with 'fat plant' collectors. Adenium arabicum is similar in appearance to Adenium obesum, but creates a massive, more squat and fat caudex without much differentiation between trunk and branches and is the most succulent and "desert like" species.

     Small pink flowers.

All of the plants will be shipped bare root.
  •  Bright filtered light is best but in areas where light is not as burning, plants may be kept outdoors in full sun unprotected but remember that caudex is very susceptible to sun scalding. Plant becomes leggy in the shade and its flowering reduced.

Water when growing, keep on the dry side in winter.

     Average, Well-Drained.
  • USDA hardiness zone 10a to 11b: from 30 °F (−1.1 °C) to 50 °F (+10 °C).
  • Your plant will be meticulously bubblewrapped and shipped in a sturdy box. Most 2" plants are shipped in their original plastic pot with soil. Fragile and big 4" plants are shipped bareroot to ensure their safety. When opening your package, some soil may be loose in the box. Plant orders are shipped within 3-5 days depending on availability of the plant. We ship our plants Monday through Friday, all twelve months of the year! If you need your order urgently, please message us so we can upgrade your shipping (additional cost applied). Here is our blog about the shipping process and packaging. We do not ship outside of the continental United States.

*** All of our packages are sterilized before leaving the door.
  • We only ship out beautiful, healthy plants! Please track your package and open it immediately upon arrival. If you receive your package and are not satisfied, please message us immediately. Fragile plants such as bearpaw, baby toe, etc. may break or loose a few of their leaves during transport. Please contact us for replacements if your plants are severely damaged. We'll try our best to accommodate you. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grown in, depending on availability or time of year.
  • Provide porous soil with adequate drainage, pots with drainage hole are recommended. Bright, filtered light and ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Never let your succulents sit in water. Do NOT water on the leaves. If you water from beneath by letting the plant sit in a saucer of water, make sure to pour off any excess water after a few minutes. The hotter it is outside, the faster your soil will dry out, so you’ll need to water more often if you live in a hot area. Water with caution in winter, as the plant can lose its roots if the soil stays cold and wet for extended periods; protect from frost to prevent scarring.

Shada!

This is the most precious little fat bottom plant. As usual a delightfully perfect specimen arrived safely and no worse for the wear. I’m on my way to a mini forest! Thanks as usual to my fav plant shop around.

I named him Tsuchigomori and he is adorable!

I LOVE Succulents Box! It becoming one of my first go to places to shop if I ever have any extra spending money (which is rare). Their plants are so carefully packaged and they arrive in great condition and health. I fell in love with Adenium Obesum 'Shada' because it reminded me of a bonsai tree. Right now, I have him on my window sill and he's sure to have a few more neighbors soon. I definitely recommend this plant and Succulents Box overall.
