  •   Tiger Tooth Aloe Juvenna - Aloe-mitriformis is a compact, clumping succulent native to the rocky slopes and arid regions of South Africa. It evolved to grow in bright sun and fast-draining soils, and it has become a go-to choice for both new and experienced plant collectors looking for an aloe with bold character.

It forms tight, upright rosettes packed with thick, fleshy green leaves edged in white teeth that give it the iconic "tiger tooth" look. The leaves are firm and tapered, often blushing with warm reddish or orange tones when grown in bright light. At maturity, it reaches about 2 to 4 inches tall and spreads as a succulent that gradually fills out its pot through steady offset production.

Tiger Tooth Aloe can produce tall flower spikes topped with tubular orange-red blooms, typically appearing in late winter to spring. A slight drop in nighttime temperatures encourages more flowering.

You can leave it up to ten days without water. Move it outside in summer in a sheltered, bright spot, but provide cover from rain to prevent root rot. Keep it on a high shelf away from cats and dogs, as the sap can cause skin or paw irritation. The plant naturally produces offsets, or pups, around the base that can be gently separated and potted up once they develop a few leaves of their own.

  •   Tiger Tooth Aloe Juvenna - Aloe-mitriformis grows well in bright indirect light, partial sun, or full sun, though it may scorch in intense south-facing windows without gradual acclimation.

Water it every 10-14 days in summer and every 3-4 weeks in winter, always allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings.

Tiger Tooth Aloe does best in a gritty, well-draining cactus and succulent mix amended with perlite or coarse sand.

It prefers temperatures between 55-80°F and must be brought indoors before temperatures drop below 40°F.

Tiger Tooth Aloe is a slow to moderate grower that benefits from a light balanced fertilizer once in spring and once in early summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11, tolerating minimum temperatures down to around 25-30°F for brief periods only. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and coastal Oregon. It can also be grown outdoors with seasonal protection in warmer pockets of New Mexico, coastal North Carolina, Arkansas, and Tennessee.
  • Q: How often should I water Tiger Tooth Aloe Juvenna - Aloe-mitriformis?
A: During the growing season, water every 10-14 days and let the soil dry out fully between waterings. In winter, cut back to every 3-4 weeks.

Q: Is it safe around pets?
A: Tiger Tooth Aloe Juvenna - Aloe-mitriformis is not safe for cats and dogs; keep it on a high shelf out of reach, as the sap can cause skin or paw irritation.

Q: What window direction works best for Tiger Tooth Aloe indoors?
A: Bright indirect light from an east or west-facing window works well, or position it a few feet back from a south-facing window to avoid leaf scorch.

Q: How fast does it grow?
A: Tiger Tooth Aloe is a slow to moderate grower that gradually forms clumping clusters of rosettes over time.

Q: Can Tiger Tooth Aloe be propagated easily?
A: It naturally produces offsets at the base that can be gently separated and potted individually once they develop a few leaves.

    Q: Does it need humidity?
A: Tiger Tooth Aloe prefers dry air and does not tolerate high humidity well, so avoid misting or placing it in humid environments.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
