  •   Senecio Citriformis Succulents are trailing succulents native to the dry, rocky regions of South Africa, where they evolved to grow in bright, semi-arid conditions. These plants have earned a devoted following among collectors and beginner plant parents alike for their low-maintenance nature and distinctive appearance.

The plump, lemon-shaped leaves are silvery gray-green with translucent stripes called "windows" that allow light to filter into the leaf tissue. Long stems send growth cascading downward in a trailing, clustering habit, creating a natural draping form that works well in hanging baskets or on high shelves.

Small daisy-like blooms appear when conditions are right, particularly after temperatures drop noticeably at night, though flowering indoors is a bonus rather than a guarantee.

Hang it from a sturdy hook to show off the trailing stems, or move it outside for summer in a sheltered spot where it stays protected from direct rain. You can leave it up to ten days without water. Cats, dogs, and small children should stay well away from this plant, as the sap causes skin and paw irritation. Rotate it regularly for even growth and keep it away from AC vents and heating units that blast dry directional air.

  •   Senecio Citriformis Succulents grows in bright indirect light or partial sun and will scorch if placed in a direct south-facing window.

Water it thoroughly every 10 to 14 days in summer, then reduce to once every 3 to 4 weeks in winter, letting soil dry completely between waterings.

Senecio Citriformis does best in a fast-draining cactus and succulent mix blended with extra perlite for maximum drainage.

It prefers temperatures between 60 and 80°F and cannot tolerate frost below 32°F.

Senecio Citriformis grows at a moderate pace and appreciates a light, balanced liquid fertilizer once monthly during spring and summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 through 11. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Georgia, South Carolina, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, and coastal Oregon. Gardeners in New Mexico, Arkansas, North Carolina, and parts of Virginia can also grow it successfully in containers brought indoors during cooler months.
  • Q: How often should I water Senecio Citriformis Succulents?
A: Every 10 to 14 days in warm months and once every 3 to 4 weeks in winter. Let the soil dry completely between waterings to prevent root rot.

Q: Are they safe around cats and dogs?
A: Senecio Citriformis Succulents is toxic to pets and can cause skin and paw irritation on contact. Keep it on a high shelf well out of reach.

Q: What window direction works best for Senecio Citriformis indoors?
A: An east or west-facing window provides bright indirect light without the intense afternoon burn that a south-facing window causes.

Q: How do I propagate it?
A: Senecio Citriformis propagates easily from stem cuttings that should callous for a day or two before placing in dry succulent mix. Roots develop within a few weeks in warm, bright conditions.

Q: Can Senecio Citriformis go outside in summer?
A: Move it to a bright, sheltered spot with partial sun, but keep it protected from heavy rain and bring it back inside before temperatures cool in fall.

Q: How long can it survive without water?
A: Senecio Citriformis can go up to ten days without water.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
