  •   Sedum kamtschaticum f. variegatum is a succulent native to rocky slopes and open hillsides across northeastern Asia, including Kamchatka, Siberia, China, and Japan. A member of the Crassulaceae family, it grows in lean, well-drained soils under open sky and is exceptionally tough and adaptable in gardens and containers.

The plant has fleshy, spoon-shaped leaves edged in creamy white or pale yellow, contrasting against a green center. It grows in a low, clumping and spreading habit, clustering into dense mats that widen over time. Sedum Variegatum fills garden borders and rock gardens as a drought-tolerant ground cover without becoming invasive.

It produces star-shaped flowers in golden yellow to orange during summer, with blooms that age to rusty-red seedheads extending into autumn. A nighttime temperature drop triggers its natural flowering cycle, encouraging more prolific blooming.

Move it outside for summer or keep it outdoors into autumn as temperatures cool. It handles balcony wind, rain exposure, and even drafty indoor spots without trouble. Sedum Variegatum is non-toxic to cats and dogs, making it a safe choice for households with pets. You can leave it up to ten days without water. Propagate it easily by stem cuttings or by dividing established clumps in spring or early summer.

  •   Sedum kamtschaticum f. variegatum grows well in partial sun to full sun and benefits from rotating indoors for even, balanced growth.

Water it every 10-14 days during spring and summer, reducing to once a month in winter.

Sedum Variegatum does best in gritty, fast-draining cactus soil blended with perlite or coarse sand.

It handles temperatures as low as 20°F and tolerates brief frost with ease in suitable climates.

Sedum Variegatum is a moderate to moderately fast spreader needing only a light balanced feed once in spring.

It is hardy in USDA zones 4-9, tolerating winter lows around -30°F at the cold end of its range. It grows outdoors in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and New Mexico. It grows outdoors in Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and the Pacific coastal zones of California.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
