  •   Sedum album 'Athoum' is a low-growing succulent perennial in the Crassulaceae family, native to Europe, North Africa, and western Asia. In its natural habitat, it colonizes rocky slopes and well-drained soils where it spreads across stone walls and sparse terrain. It is frost hardy and drought tolerant, having traveled from those rugged origins into gardens and containers worldwide.

The plant forms a tight, mat-forming carpet of small cylindrical leaves that are bright green in cool seasons and flush with reddish-bronze tones under heat or stress. The leaves are plump and glossy, densely packed along trailing stems that spread outward over pot edges and rock walls. It grows in a clumping, trailing, clustering habit that works equally well as a spreading ground cover or a cascading hanging container plant.

Summer brings clusters of small white star-shaped flowers, typically blooming from June through July just above the foliage on short stems. A slight drop in nighttime temperatures during spring encourages the best flowering display. The blooms attract pollinators and produce pollen.

Move it outside for summer and it stays comfortable into autumn without fuss. It handles balcony wind and rain without trouble, making it a top choice for rock gardens, green roofs, mixed succulent containers, and exposed outdoor spots. You can leave it up to ten days without water. It is pet friendly and tolerates dry heated indoor air equally well, giving it genuine year-round versatility for both garden and home.

  •   Sedum album 'Athoum' grows well in full sun to partial sun, welcoming at least four to six hours of direct sun daily.

Water it every 10-14 days during the growing season, cutting back to once a month or less in winter as soil dries completely between waterings.

Sedum 'Athoum' does best in a fast-draining succulent or cactus mix blended with extra perlite or coarse grit to prevent root rot.

It handles temperatures from around 25°F and above, tolerating light frost with ease in suitable climates.

Sedum 'Athoum' is a clumping, trailing succulent that spreads at a moderate pace, needing only a light balanced fertilizer once in spring.

It is hardy in USDA Zones 4-9, tolerating winter lows around 25°F and colder in well-drained conditions. It grows outdoors across the northern and central regions including Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. It also grows in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, Utah, and Idaho, as well as warmer and transitional zones spanning Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and much of California.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
