  •   Haworthia fasciata 'Green', also called Zebra Plant, is a compact succulent in the Asphodelaceae family native to the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. It grows naturally in rocky, semi-arid terrain tucked beneath shrubs, where it receives filtered light and endures long dry periods between rainfall.

The leaves are thick, upright, and tapered to a point, arranged in a tight rosette that stays between 3 and 5 inches tall and wide. The outer surface is dark green marked with horizontal white tubercles running in distinct bands across each leaf, while the inner surface is smoother and a lighter shade of green. This low-profile growth habit suits shelves, desks, and small spaces.

Haworthia 'Green' produces slender flower stalks in late spring through summer, bearing small tubular white to pale pink flowers. A drop in nighttime temperature can encourage blooming. The plant releases oxygen at night rather than during the day and filters indoor air pollutants including formaldehyde.

Rotate it every few weeks so all sides receive even light exposure. Move it outside in summer, positioning it away from direct afternoon sun, which can scorch the leaves, and cover it from rain. Keep it away from air conditioning vents and heating units that push dry, moving air directly onto the leaves. It handles dry heated air in winter. Haworthia 'Green' fits well in terrariums and grows comfortably under standard office LED lighting. This plant is pet friendly.

  •   Haworthia fasciata 'Green' grows well in bright indirect light and tolerates medium light, such as north or east-facing windows.

Water it every 10 to 14 days in spring and summer, and reduce to once a month in winter, letting soil dry fully between waterings.

Haworthia 'Green' does best in a well-draining cactus or succulent mix, amended with perlite or coarse sand.

It prefers temperatures between 65°F and 80°F and should never be exposed to air below 50°F.

Haworthia 'Green' is a slow-growing succulent; feed it with diluted succulent fertilizer once in spring and once in summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 to 11. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, and parts of Nevada, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Georgia.
  • Q: Is Haworthia fasciata 'Green' safe for cats and dogs?
A: This plant is non-toxic and safe for cats and dogs.

Q: How do I know if I am overwatering?
A: Haworthia fasciata 'Green' develops soft, mushy leaves at the base when exposed to consistently wet soil. Let the top inch of soil dry out before watering again.

Q: Can Haworthia 'Green' survive a trip without being watered?
A: You can leave it unwatered for up to ten days.

Q: How do I propagate this succulent?
A: Haworthia 'Green' offsets freely, producing small pups around the base of the mother plant. Separate a pup with some roots attached, let the cut end dry for a day, then pot it in dry succulent mix and wait a week before watering.

Q: Why are the leaves on Zebra Plant turning yellow?
A: Overwatering or waterlogged soil is the most common cause. Less commonly, too much direct sun will bleach the outer leaves.

Q: Which window direction works best for this plant indoors?
A: Zebra Plant does well in a north or east-facing window. A south-facing window can scorch the leaves unless the plant is set back from the glass or shaded with a sheer curtain.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
