  •   Haworthia cooperi var. truncata 'Alien Eggs' is a rare succulent from the Eastern Cape of South Africa, where it grows nestled into rocky, shaded soil. It is sought after by collectors worldwide for its distinctive appearance and compact form.

The leaves are compact and nearly flat-topped, with glassy green window tips that glow when backlit. Each rosette clusters tightly with offsets over time, building into a cushion of dome-shaped leaves that resemble alien eggs. The translucent windows allow light to filter into the leaf tissue, a natural adaptation that reduces water loss in its native rocky habitat.

A slight drop in nighttime temperature encourages blooming, typically producing slender white flowers on tall stalks in spring or summer. It is non-toxic and pet-safe for cats and dogs.

You can leave it up to ten days without water. Haworthia Cooperi Truncata adapts well to office LEDs or a kitchen windowsill where gentle ambient moisture helps it grow well. Move it outside in summer in warm climates as long as it stays covered from rain. It stays small, typically reaching 2 to 3 inches tall per rosette. It works well in terrariums, shallow dish gardens, or as a windowsill specimen.

  •   Haworthia cooperi var. truncata 'Alien Eggs' grows in low, medium, or bright indirect light, avoiding direct sun that scorches the translucent leaf tips.

Water it every 2 to 3 weeks in summer and once a month or less in winter, allowing soil to dry fully between waterings.

Haworthia Cooperi Truncata does best in a fast-draining mix of cactus soil blended with perlite or coarse grit at roughly 50/50 ratio.

It prefers temperatures between 65 to 85°F and should be kept above 40°F, as it is frost tender.

Haworthia Cooperi Truncata is a slow-growing clumping rosette needing only a light balanced fertilizer once in spring and once in summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 to 11, tolerating brief dips to 25 to 30°F with protection. It grows outdoors year-round in Florida, Hawaii, California, Arizona, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and coastal Oregon. It also grows well in Nevada's warmer southern valleys, the Gulf Coast regions of the Florida Panhandle, and sheltered microclimates throughout the Southwest.
  • Q: Is Haworthia cooperi var. truncata 'Alien Eggs' safe for cats and dogs?
A: It is non-toxic and pet-safe for both cats and dogs.

Q: Can this plant tolerate low-light conditions?
A: Haworthia cooperi var. truncata 'Alien Eggs' grows under standard office LEDs and in low to bright indirect light. Avoid south-facing windows with intense direct sun, which scorches the leaf tips.

Q: How large does Haworthia Cooperi Truncata get?
A: It stays small, typically reaching 2 to 3 inches tall per rosette, slowly clumping outward over time.

Q: What's the easiest way to propagate this plant?
A: Haworthia Cooperi Truncata spreads by forming offsets around the base of the mother rosette. Gently separate them and pot into a well-draining mix to establish.

Q: How often should Haworthia Cooperi Truncata be fertilized?
A: Growth is slow, so feeding twice per year is sufficient. Apply a light balanced fertilizer once in spring and once in summer.

Q: Is this cultivar commonly available?
A: Haworthia Cooperi Truncata is a rare cultivar not commonly found in garden centers, so availability can be limited depending on your location.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
