  •   Gasteria Little Warty is a compact succulent hybrid in the Asphodelaceae family, closely related to aloes and suited for indoor spaces. It originates from South Africa's rocky, shaded succulent habitats, where gasterias evolved to grow in low-light conditions. This heritage makes it excel indoors where most other succulents struggle.

It forms a tidy rosette of thick, tongue-shaped leaves covered in raised white tubercles, the "warts" that give it its name. Leaves are deep green with silvery-gray spotting, creating a textured, almost reptilian pattern. Growth is clumping, so a single plant gradually develops into a multi-rosette cluster that stays compact, typically reaching 4-6 inches in height.

Slender, arching stems produce tubular, pinkish-orange blooms typically appearing in late winter through spring. Flowers are modest in size but appear more freely once the plant has matured. A slight drop in nighttime temperatures tends to encourage flowering.

You can leave it up to ten days without water. Move it outside in summer, keeping it sheltered from direct rain. It handles dry, heated indoor air during winter without problems and is non-toxic to cats and dogs. A heavier pot helps keep the deep root system stable. You can separate the offsets, or pups, that form at the base and pot them up in fresh succulent mix to propagate new plants.

  •   Gasteria Little Warty grows in low, medium, or bright indirect light but scorches easily in a south-facing window.

Water it every 2-3 weeks in summer and once a month or less in winter, allowing soil to dry fully between waterings.

Gasteria Little Warty does best in a fast-draining cactus and succulent mix blended with extra perlite for added drainage.

It prefers temperatures between 50-85°F and should be protected from frost below 30°F.

Gasteria Little Warty is a slow to moderate grower that needs only a light balanced fertilizer once or twice during the active growing season.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11, tolerating brief dips to around 25-30°F but preferring frost-free conditions year-round. It grows outdoors in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi. It also grows along the mild coastal stretches of Oregon and Washington, as well as parts of New Mexico and Arkansas that fall within zone 9 boundaries.
  • Q: Is Gasteria Little Warty pet friendly?
A: It is non-toxic and safe for cats and dogs.

Q: What kind of light does this succulent need?
A: Gasteria Little Warty adapts well to low or bright indirect light. North or east-facing windows work well, and direct sun causes leaf scorch.

Q: How often should Gasteria Little Warty be watered?
A: Check the soil first. Water only when it's completely dry to the touch, typically every 2-3 weeks in summer and much less in winter.

Q: Can this plant survive indoors without a window?
A: It adapts well to office environments and grows comfortably under standard LED grow lights or bright fluorescent lighting.

Q: How big does Gasteria Little Warty get?
A: It stays compact at 4-6 inches tall and spreads slowly as it clusters.

    Q: Can offsets be propagated?
A: Simply detach a pup with roots attached from the base of Gasteria Little Warty and pot it up in well-draining succulent mix.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
