  •   Crassula High Voltage is a rare succulent in the Crassulaceae family, collected for its architectural form and vivid leaf coloration. Native to South Africa, it evolved in rocky, sun-baked terrain where drought and bright light shaped its tough, drought-tolerant nature. The plant grows upright and clustering, stacking leaves in tight geometric columns that stand out on any shelf.

The leaves are small and closely arranged in opposing pairs, building neat vertical stacks that create an almost sculptural silhouette. Foliage shifts from green to red and white when exposed to strong sunlight, with color intensity deepening in brighter conditions. It grows as a compact, branching succulent, producing multiple columns from a single base.

Small star-shaped blooms can appear when conditions align, typically triggered by a cool nighttime temperature drop in autumn or early winter.

Move it outside in summer to a bright spot; it handles outdoor conditions well and can stay outside well into autumn in mild climates. Cover it from heavy rain to prevent rot. Keep it on a high shelf away from cats, dogs, and small children, as they should not nibble or handle the plant.

  •   Crassula High Voltage grows well in bright indirect light, partial sun, or full sun, with leaf colors intensifying in higher light conditions.

Water it every 10-14 days during the growing season and every 3-4 weeks in winter, allowing soil to dry completely between waterings.

Crassula 'High Voltage' grows best in fast-draining cactus soil mixed with perlite at roughly a 2:1 ratio.

It prefers temperatures between 65-85°F and should be brought indoors before temperatures drop below 40°F.

Crassula 'High Voltage' is a slow to moderate grower; a balanced diluted succulent fertilizer applied once in spring and once in summer supports healthy cluster development.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11, tolerating minimum temperatures around 25-30°F with protection. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi. It also grows in coastal Oregon, coastal Washington, and parts of New Mexico.
  • Q: How often should I water Crassula High Voltage?
A: Every 10-14 days during the growing season, letting the soil dry fully between waterings. In winter, reduce to once every 3-4 weeks.

Q: Is it safe for pets and children?
A: No. Crassula High Voltage is toxic; cats, dogs, and small children should not be left to nibble or handle it, so keep it on a high shelf well out of reach.

Q: Can Crassula 'High Voltage' survive outdoors year-round?
A: Only in USDA zones 9-11. In colder regions, move it indoors before frost arrives.

Q: What happens if there isn't enough light?
A: Leaf colors fade and growth becomes stretched or weak. Crassula 'High Voltage' needs bright indirect light to partial sun at minimum to develop its signature red and white tones.

Q: Does Crassula 'High Voltage' need humid air?
A: No. It prefers dry conditions and dislikes humidity, which can encourage rot. Standard indoor air works fine.

Q: How fast does it grow?
A: Crassula 'High Voltage' grows slowly to moderately. With balanced succulent fertilizer in spring and summer, steady clustering develops over the growing season without aggressive expansion.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
