  •   Crassula Multicava, also called Fairy Crassula, is a low-growing succulent from the Crassulaceae family native to the shaded forest floors and rocky outcrops of South Africa. It has earned a devoted following worldwide for its easygoing nature and ability to grow across a wide range of indoor and outdoor growing conditions.

The plant forms dense, spreading mounds of small rounded leaves with soft green color and tiny pitted dots that cover the surface. Leaves stack in opposite pairs along branching stems, creating a mat-forming clumping habit that spreads outward rather than growing upright. The textured foliage is instantly recognizable in any succulent arrangement or garden bed.

Pale pink to white star-shaped flowers appear on slender stems above the foliage in late winter through spring. The blooms are airy, rising lightly from the mounding foliage. Note that this plant does produce pollen, so it may not suit households with severe pollen allergies.

Crassula Multicava works equally well as a ground cover in warm gardens or as a tabletop accent indoors. It can spread quite wide over time, so occasional trimming keeps it tidy as it matures. Move it outside during summer to encourage growth in bright light and fresh air, then bring it back inside before frost arrives. The plant is drought tolerant and spreads generously.

  •   Crassula multicava - Fairy Crassula grows well in bright indirect light to partial sun, tolerating full sun with afternoon protection to prevent leaf scorch.

Water it every 10 to 14 days during the growing season, allowing soil to dry completely between waterings, then reduce to once monthly in winter.

Crassula Multicava does best in a fast-draining succulent or cactus mix blended with perlite for excellent drainage and aeration.

It prefers temperatures between 50 and 85°F and is frost tender below 28°F, requiring protection or indoor relocation in cold climates.

Crassula Multicava is a slow to moderate grower that benefits from a light balanced fertilizer applied once in spring and once in early summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 through 11, tolerating brief dips to around 28°F before frost damage occurs. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and coastal Oregon. It can also be cultivated outdoors in the warmer pockets of New Mexico, Arkansas, and North Carolina with minimal frost protection during cold snaps.
  • Q: How often should I water Crassula multicava - Fairy Crassula?
A: Check the soil first; when the top inch feels completely dry, water thoroughly. In the growing season that's typically every 10-14 days; in winter, once monthly or less.

Q: Is it safe around pets?
A: Crassula multicava - Fairy Crassula is toxic to cats and dogs if ingested, so keep it out of reach of curious pets and contact your vet immediately if one chews on it.

Q: What window direction works best for Crassula Multicava indoors?
A: A south or west-facing window provides plenty of bright light without excessive afternoon heat; north-facing windows work but may produce slower, looser growth.

Q: How fast does it spread?
A: Crassula Multicava grows at a moderate pace, spreading outward in a low mat-forming clumping habit rather than growing tall, widening several inches per year once established.

Q: Can Fairy Crassula be propagated easily?
A: Stem cuttings root readily; let cut ends dry for a day or two, place them in dry succulent mix, then water lightly once roots emerge after a few weeks.

Q: How big do they get?
A: Fairy Crassula spreads quite wide over time but stays low, typically reaching 6-12 inches tall while spreading 12-24 inches or more, depending on space and trimming.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
