  •   Sempervivum Tomentosum Daluis is a rare succulent in the Crassulaceae family that evolved in the rocky mountain regions of Europe. Built for harsh, exposed terrain with minimal water, it handles conditions where other plants struggle.

'Daluis' forms tight, upright rosettes that cluster and spread over time to create a dense, living mat. The leaves are plump and pointed, covered in fine cobweb-like hairs that give the plant a soft, silvery-green texture. That distinctive fuzz is the hallmark feature that sets it apart from other sempervivums at a glance.

Like others in its genus, 'Daluis' needs a drop in night temperature to trigger blooming, so outdoor autumn placement works to encourage a flower spike. The rosette that blooms produces a starburst of petals before completing its life cycle, with surrounding offsets filling in quickly.

It handles dry heated air and tolerates drafty spots with ease. Move it outside for summer or leave it outdoors into autumn. Rotate the pot occasionally for even, symmetrical growth on all sides. Protect it from heavy rain to keep the roots from sitting wet. You can leave it up to ten days without water.

  •   Sempervivum Tomentosum Daluis grows well in bright indirect light and can handle direct sun, though south-facing windows may scorch the leaves in peak summer.

Water it every 10 to 14 days during the growing season, allowing soil to dry completely between waterings.

'Daluis' does best in a gritty, fast-draining mix of cactus soil blended with perlite or coarse sand at roughly a 50/50 ratio.

It handles a wide range from around 65 to 80°F indoors and is frost tolerant well below freezing in appropriate hardiness zones.

'Daluis' is a moderate grower with an upright, clustering habit and needs little to no fertilizer to stay healthy and full.

It is hardy in USDA zones 4 through 9, tolerating frost down to around minus 30°F at the colder end of that range. It grows outdoors across Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and California. It also grows well in the milder portions of Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas.
  • Q: How often should I water Sempervivum Tomentosum Daluis?

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
