  •   Sempervivum 'Little Bobo' is a cold hardy succulent from the hen and chicks family, native to the mountainous regions of Europe. It has adapted to harsh alpine conditions and is pet-safe around cats and dogs.

'Little Bobo' forms tight, compact rosettes with thick, fleshy leaves that are green with reddish tips. Each rosette stays small, rarely exceeding 2-3 inches in diameter, and the leaves have smooth texture with pointed tips that give the plant a star-like appearance. It produces numerous small offsets around the mother plant, clustering readily to create dense colonies of miniature rosettes.

Small star-shaped flowers occasionally appear on tall stalks during summer months, though flowering is infrequent and typically occurs only on mature rosettes. The plant tolerates dry heated air indoors and can be left up to ten days without water.

'Little Bobo' excels as a rock garden plant and works well in small-space gardens, containers, and alpine displays. It handles balcony wind and rain well, and you can move it outside for summer, then leave it outdoors through autumn with proper winter protection. The leaves shift from green to red with increased direct sun exposure. Rotate it regularly for even growth, though avoid placing it in south-facing windows indoors where it can scorch.

  •   Sempervivum 'Little Bobo' grows well in full sun to partial sun and develops the best color with direct sunlight exposure.

Water it deeply but infrequently, allowing soil to dry completely between waterings every 1-2 weeks.

'Little Bobo' does best in well-draining soil such as cactus mix combined with perlite or coarse sand.

It handles temperatures from 20°F to 80°F and is fully frost tolerant.

'Little Bobo' is a slow-growing clustering succulent that requires minimal to no fertilizer for healthy development.

It is hardy in USDA zones 4-9 and tolerates frost down to 20°F. It grows outdoors in northern states like Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. It also grows outdoors throughout Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and California.
  • Q: Is Sempervivum 'Little Bobo' safe for pets?
A: It is non-toxic and safe around cats and dogs with no toxicity concerns for household pets.

Q: How much light does it need indoors?
A: Sempervivum 'Little Bobo' needs bright direct light indoors but can scorch in south-facing windows; a bright east- or west-facing location works better. Rotating the plant every few weeks ensures even coloration across all rosettes.

Q: How fast does 'Little Bobo' grow and spread?
A: It grows slowly but produces many small offsets that form clustering colonies outward, with each rosette staying compact at 2-3 inches.

Q: Can it survive winter outdoors?
A: 'Little Bobo' is frost tolerant and can stay outdoors through autumn and winter in zones 4-9 with cover from excessive rain to prevent root rot.

Q: How do I propagate 'Little Bobo'?
A: It propagates easily from the small rooted offsets it naturally produces around the mother plant; simply separate them and plant in well-draining soil.

    Q: Does it need fertilizer?
A: 'Little Bobo' grows slowly and clusters readily without additional nutrients, so minimal to no fertilizer is necessary for healthy development.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
