  •   Echeveria Lime and Chili is a succulent in the Crassulaceae family, bred from the Echeveria genus native to the semi-arid highlands of Mexico and Central America. Like its wild relatives, it grows well in bright, well-draining conditions and grows as a clustering rosette that gradually fills a pot over time.

'Lime and Chili' forms tight, symmetrical rosettes with fleshy, spoon-shaped leaves in fresh lime green tipped with rosy-red to chili-orange edges, especially under strong sunlight. The color shifts intensify when exposed to plenty of bright light or cooler nighttime temperatures. As a clustering variety, it produces offsets around the base that gradually expand into a full, hen-and-chicks form.

Blooming is most triggered by a nighttime temperature drop, so moving it to a cooler spot in autumn can encourage a flowering display. It also releases oxygen at night. The plant is completely pet-safe for cats and dogs.

It works well on windowsills, desk spaces, and patio containers. Move it outside once warm weather arrives in summer. Rotate the pot regularly so every side receives even light and the rosette stays symmetrical. 'Lime and Chili' also readily produces offsets that can be separated and potted individually for easy propagation.

  •   Echeveria Lime and Chili grows well in bright indirect light to full sun, ideally near an east or west-facing window.

Water it deeply every 10-14 days in summer, then reduce to once every 3-4 weeks in winter when growth slows.

'Lime and Chili' grows well in a fast-draining mix of 50% coarse perlite or pumice blended with quality succulent or cactus soil.

It prefers temperatures between 65 and 80°F and should be brought indoors before temperatures drop below 40°F.

'Lime and Chili' is a slow to moderate grower needing only light balanced fertilizer once or twice during the active growing season.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 through 11, tolerating brief dips to around 25°F but performing best with frost protection. It grows outdoors year-round in Florida, Hawaii, southern California, coastal Oregon, southern Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. It can succeed with seasonal shelter during cold snaps in warmer pockets of North Carolina, Virginia, and the Pacific Northwest.
  • Q: Is Echeveria Lime and Chili pet friendly?
A: It is non-toxic to cats and dogs and safe to display freely.

Q: How often should I water 'Lime and Chili'?
A: During the growing season, water deeply every 10-14 days and let the soil dry completely between waterings. In winter, cut back to once every 3-4 weeks.

Q: Can 'Lime and Chili' survive summer outdoors?
A: Move it outside in a bright spot with partial to full sun during summer. Cover it or move it under shelter when rain is expected to prevent overwatering and rot.

Q: How large does 'Lime and Chili' grow?
A: A single rosette typically reaches 3-5 inches wide and stays compact indoors. Clusters spread wider over time as offsets multiply, filling a 4-inch pot.

Q: What is the easiest way to propagate this plant?
A: 'Lime and Chili' readily produces chicks (offsets) around the base that can be gently separated and potted individually. Leaf propagation is possible but slower than using offsets.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
