  •   Echeveria Harmsii Ruby Slipper is a fuzzy succulent from the Crassulaceae family, native to Mexico where it grows in rocky, sun-drenched terrain. It has soft-haired leaves and a compact rosette form that clusters into fuller displays over time.

It forms tight rosettes with velvety leaves that are green at the base and tipped in red, especially under bright light. The fuzzy texture comes from fine hairs covering the foliage, giving it a plush appearance. As a clustering grower, it gradually produces offsets around the mother rosette, building out into a dense, layered display.

'Ruby Slipper' produces tubular orange-red blooms on tall stems in spring. Flowering requires a drop in nighttime temperatures below 55°F, so moving it to a cool windowsill or outdoors in early autumn triggers the bloom cycle. You can leave it up to ten days without water during dormant periods.

Rotate it regularly for even, symmetrical growth and keep it away from air conditioning or heating vents. It works as a windowsill accent, patio plant in summer, or desk centerpiece. It is non-toxic and safe for cats and dogs. Move it outside in summer and bring it back indoors before temperatures drop in autumn.

  •   Echeveria Harmsii Ruby Slipper grows well in bright indirect light to full direct sun, though intense midday sun through south-facing windows can scorch the fuzzy leaves.

Water it deeply every 10-14 days in spring and summer, cutting back to once every 3-4 weeks in winter, letting the soil dry completely between waterings.

'Ruby Slipper' does best in a gritty, fast-draining succulent and cactus mix blended with extra perlite at roughly a 2:1 ratio.

It prefers temperatures between 65-80°F and should be protected from frost below 25°F.

'Ruby Slipper' is a slow to moderate grower that benefits from diluted balanced fertilizer once monthly during spring and summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11, tolerating minimum temperatures down to around 25°F. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and coastal Oregon. In cooler states like North Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, and New Mexico, it can move outside for summer and return indoors before the first frost.
  • Q: How often should I water Echeveria Harmsii Ruby Slipper?
A: Water every 10-14 days spring through summer, letting soil dry out completely first. In winter, reduce to once every 3-4 weeks.

Q: Is this plant safe for pets?
A: Echeveria Harmsii Ruby Slipper is non-toxic and safe for cats and dogs.

Q: What light does 'Ruby Slipper' need indoors?
A: Bright indirect light or a few hours of gentle direct sun near east or west-facing windows works well. Avoid prolonged harsh afternoon sun, which scorches the fuzzy leaves.

Q: How do I get blooms on this plant?
A: 'Ruby Slipper' needs nighttime temperatures below 55°F to trigger spring blooms. Move it to a cool windowsill or outdoors in early autumn for a few weeks.

Q: How do I propagate 'Ruby Slipper'?
A: The easiest method is separating the offsets clustering around the base and potting them individually in well-draining succulent mix. Leaf cuttings work too, though offsets root faster and more reliably.

Q: Can this succulent handle summer outdoors?
A: 'Ruby Slipper' grows well outdoors in a bright, sheltered spot during summer. Protect it from heavy rain, which can cause rot, and bring it back indoors before temperatures drop in autumn.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
