  •   Echeveria 'Green Burgundy' is a compact rosette succulent in the Crassulaceae family, native to the semi-arid regions of Mexico. It has been developed as a cultivated hybrid prized for its two-toned leaf coloration and symmetrical rosette form.

The leaves are fleshy and spoon-shaped, pale green at the center deepening to burgundy-red along the margins and tips. Each rosette grows in a tightly layered spiral, with a powdery farina coating the leaf surface. Rotate the pot regularly so each side receives even light and the rosette holds its round shape.

'Green Burgundy' can push up slender arching stems in late spring to summer, tipped with small bell-shaped flowers in orange to coral tones. It needs a drop in nighttime temperatures to trigger blooming. While flower detail for this cultivar is limited, the rosette structure and two-toned leaf color remain the most consistent features year-round.

Move it outside for summer in a spot with morning sun and afternoon shade, and bring it back in before the first frost. Cover it from rain, as standing water on the leaves and in the rosette can cause rot. This plant is pet friendly, so it can sit on a low shelf or table without concern. You can leave it up to ten days without water, and it fits equally well into a bohemian shelf arrangement or as a single architectural specimen on a desk.

  •   Echeveria 'Green Burgundy' grows well in bright indirect light, though it can handle a few hours of direct morning sun.

Water it every 10 to 14 days, letting the soil dry out completely between sessions.

'Green Burgundy' does best in a gritty, fast-draining cactus and perlite mix.

It prefers temperatures between 60°F and 80°F and stays away from AC vents and heater airflow.

'Green Burgundy' is a slow to moderate grower, fed once in spring and once in summer with a diluted balanced fertilizer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9b through 11, tolerating lows of around 25°F to 30°F for brief periods. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, and Louisiana. It also grows outdoors in coastal areas of Georgia, South Carolina, and Oregon where winters stay mild.
  • Q: How much light does Echeveria 'Green Burgundy' need?
A: A bright east- or west-facing windowsill works well. South-facing windows can scorch the leaves, so diffuse the light with a sheer curtain or move it a foot or two back from the glass.

Q: Why are the leaves on my succulent turning yellow?
A: Echeveria 'Green Burgundy' most often yellows from overwatering. Check that the soil is fully dry before watering again, and make sure the pot has drainage holes so water does not pool at the roots.

Q: Can 'Green Burgundy' be propagated at home?
A: Yes, it propagates easily from leaf cuttings or offsets. Twist a healthy leaf cleanly from the stem, let it callous for a day or two, then set it on dry succulent soil. Offsets can be separated from the base and potted up once they have their own roots.

Q: Is this succulent safe for cats and dogs?
A: 'Green Burgundy' is non-toxic and pet friendly, so cats and dogs can be around it safely.

Q: Can 'Green Burgundy' survive while I'm traveling?
A: You can leave it without water for up to ten days without any issue. Make sure it is in a well-lit spot before you go rather than a dim corner.

Q: How do I keep this rosette succulent growing evenly indoors?
A: 'Green Burgundy' tends to lean toward its light source over time. Give the pot a quarter turn every week or two to keep the rosette growing symmetrically.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
